Wedding was awesome!
It was an outdoor wedding, and the day and setting were just perfect. Clear and sunny, about 73 degrees and low humidity. The green frogs were doing their bajno-twang call and there was a summer tanager chirping just as my fiance walked down the makeshift "aisle" in the garden.
Vows were spoken, words were said, rings were exchanged, and voila-I has a wife. We've been living together for over a year now so it's not like too much changed, but the simple act of saying the vows in front of others does mean something to me.
Reception was good-we had 3 cases of Lindeman's Framboise lambic beer and much of it was consumed by the guests-I think my fiance and I both went through 2 bottles a person. The only downer was the cake-it was beautiful and tasty, but it wasn't what we ordered.

No one but us noticed but I was a bit miffed and we're hoping we can get some free munchies from the bakery to compensate, given that we buy $20 of stuff there every week anyway.
Honeymoon plans are pretty straightforward-heading up to Rockport, MA for birdwatching and whalewatching until Saturday. Work and INS issues for her (she's a permanent resident) sort have kept any plans for the grand vacation from being realized, but we'll probably make our way to Christmas in Trinidad this year to make up for it. Still looking forward to having a good time in Rockport, though it's going to be a bit colder than I expected. Flight leaves tomorrow afternoon.
They always say that just-married couples look so happy, and it's true. However, unless they are of the no-sex-til-marriage type, it's more because they are super-farking-relieved that the wedding and the huge amount of planning and work it takes to pull it off-even on a small scale-is behind them.
