Goldie's Essential Mix from BBC1 - April 8, 2007
« on: April 30, 2007, 09:34:09 PM »
Any of you cats into the whole drum n' bass thing should definitely download this, it's one of the slammingest two hours of d&b i've heard in some time.... a callback to the oldskool warehouse jungle raves.

my favorite little bits come start with the Tron-light-cycle stylings of The G-Dub VIP Mix of Rufige Kru's "Monkey Boy" at the very beginning,  Commix' "Be True" at 8:50 and just the whole fucking thing! digital dancefloor destruction at it's motherfucking FINEST. turn the bass UP!

I liked Drum and Bass when I was 13, but Im soooooo over it now. It all sounds the fucking same, some of the trancier uplifting stuff is passable. Theres absolutely no reason to listen to D&B when Freeform Hardcore and Gabber exist, far far superior genres at the same speed.

I appreciate some of the more complex drum patterns, but hearing the same amen break for hours on end can be boring. I was always more of a fan of the "intelligent" jungle or whatever you call it - LTJ Bukem, Peshay, and some Goldie. Will d/l the EM when I get home, though, thanks for the link.
