Admit it. If you came into a realm that reflected me, you'd run. I see you horsefuckers and come straight at you. That is not a bubble.

Superbad looks like crap. Almost as forgettable as the recent trash American Pie has been putting out.
Superbad? WTF are you crazy? That looks stupid as hell.Knocked Up...meh. The trailer was cool the first time I saw it, but after that I lost interest.
These movies aren't comedies, they're trash
The Superbad trailer got a very good reaction when I went to see Hot Fuzz, but that's the group I'd expect to like it. There were a couple guys who laughed at the Larry The Cable Guy army comedy, but I think they were high.Seriously though, read that email exchange between Apatow and Brazill if you haven't. It's like Alec Baldwin yelling at his daughter levels of crazy.
Knocked Up looks like saccharine drivel. Superbad however looks better.

Still, my favorites from Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared are in it, so I'm there.

40 Year Old Virgin is easily my favorite comedy in the last ten years,
Am I missing something here on Superbad? I mean it looks entertaining, but not amazing. I watched the R Rated trailer, and I laughed but it also felt like another teen "graduating highschool/coming of age" comedy to me.I'd love to know if there is something more to this movie that I am missing.

All good things. Michael Cera also rocks. Yeah, the movie looks like a teen party farce movie straight out of the 80s, but that's exactly what I want. It's a solid concept, it's got a solid cast, it's got solid writing. . .it'll be entertaining.

Hmm, the director of the movie also directed a bunch of Undeclared and Arrested Development episodes.
Like you Himu, I'm looking forward to Superbad more. Probably just because George Michael is in it.
see, i liked knocked up more -- although both look great -- just because i think seth rogan is a great straight-man comedic actor in the style of belushi or old-school chevy chase.
edit: Fuck. I'm older than Seth Rogen. I feel like I've totally wasted my life now!

The smartest and most beautiful woman I've ever seen has been trying to be a director for years but she's still paying her dues as a production assistant.
The 40 Year Old Virgin is good but the romantic shit knocks it down a notch. Let's Go To Prison.

I'm actually more interested in published work than screenwriting. I know very little about the details of screenwriting.
TVC, what type of fiction do you write?
I actually liked the "romcom bullshit" that you all hated in 40 Year Old Virgin...

TVC, it seems that you just don't have enough faith in your dream to put the effort into realizing it. There's no reason why you can't turn your immense talent for making creative insults into writing good literature.

There's no reason why you can't turn your immense talent for making creative insults into writing good literature. Oh, I have faith in my abilities. I'm aware that I'm reasonably talented, and I'll even admit that I have some creative ideas. The problem is that I don't have the time or energy. I have a full time job that leaves me mentally exhausted to the point of not being able to do anything but think of insults to call G.
