Do you think the Mavs can force a Game 7?

I know they can.  Dunno if they will.  They're a better team, but they're also a less focused team.

I was so fucking pissed at the crowd in dallas for game 5.  They were fucking LEAVING when the mavs were down five or so in the last few minutes.  Worthless jerks don't know what rally means.

Can't wait for the game. Damn the Warriors had the Mavs on the ropes and couldn't punch the ticket. Ugh

I think the Warriors will win tonight. I expect Dirk to have a bad game

Make a prediction.  I want to know your prediction before the game.  I like the Mavs more but I have to say GS by 6.  Mavs just don't have enough faith unlike the Suns last year.  The Warriors are also much better than the Lakers.

Tonight will be the mavs toughest game, if they can over come it they'll have a chance in dallas, but it will still be a tough game.

Tonight will also be the wildest game IMO.  The crowd will explode every time the warriors make a fucking point.  I love this series so much mroe than any other series simply because it's being treated like a finals series and everyone is playing their fucking balls off every night.

I think people are going to very disappointed if they think that the Warriors are going to shake up the NBA.  They just happen to look very good when they play the Mavs.  I don't think that the Warriors will hang with the Suns or Spurs.

Is anyone watching Houston vs Utah?  That is such an ugly series.  I wish that Houston would just win tonight.  The refs are definitely letting Utah get away with much more physical contact tonight.  That is the most distinguished mentally-challenged thing about the NBA.  Why should a home team get more calls?  There is no such rule in the rule book.  Just call the game the same regardless of who has home court.

Dirk is a complete disgrace. I've never seen a 7 footer as pussy as him. At that size he should be dominating the Warriors. Instead he's fading away with every shot :lol

Warriors are winning but I'm worried. It seems like their problems are most visable when they aren't running up and down the court like madmen lol. Davis' injury could hurt them down the stretch

But holy shit @ Davis' shots. One leg three, nothing but net? OMG

It hurts, but I have to agree with this.  Nowitzki has always favored the fadeaway.  I don't really care as long as he HITS the shots. :(

Davis is such a ridiculous streak shooter.  People would think that he's one of the 5 best players in the NBA if they haven't seen his whole career so far.   I think Dirk's problem is that he releases the ball so quickly whenever he feels pressured.  He should clam down and release his stroke naturally.  At his height, he's not going to get blocked cleanly many times.  Look at Kobe, he doesn't change his shots even after he gets blocked a few times.  Dirk just needs more confidence in himself.  I think it might a good thing that Dallas is trailing at the half.  They're going to work harder now in the 3rd quarter, unlike last game

Hey, that's the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER IN THE NBA you're talking about.

I predict the announcement coupled with Dirk's disgrace to send Nash into another level, like going super Sauymawhatever from DorkballZ.  Suns title pretty much assured.

The Mavs were fucked at the beginning of this series.  All signs pointed to it- they weren't as good as their record, and the Warriors weren't as bad as theirs.  Add in the Nellie factor and the fact that the Mavs hadn't beaten the Warriors in more than a year and there you go.

WTF? This is sad.  I guess it doesn't matter whether I or anyone is watching the game now.  I hate that smug prick Bill Simmons but he might be right about Dirk.  I wouldn't be surprised if the NBA changes the results of the MVP voting.  This sucks.  Mavs are the best equipped team to beat the Spurs.  SA will most likely be champions now.

you really think so.  I hope you're right.  Suns have never matched up well with the Spurs.  The refs also let the Spurs grab and hold more than any other team.  I"ve no idea how a physical team like the Spurs is the least foul prone team in the NBA.

This is really sad.  Even the Seattle upset wasn't this bad.  I feel bad for the Mavs because they've been working all year to get the no.1 seed and get another chance at the championship.  I think they seriously need to upgrade their big men and bench.  They need more athleticism at the wing positions too.  They probably need to trade Harris or Terry.  Both are great but are too short to play at the same time defensively.

toughest game, and when dirk didn't step up they just got beat.  I don't even want to think about how bad it would've been if stackhouse didn't become god in the first quarter.

good god man...

I'm pissed at the mavs to be honest.  I mean I wanted golden state to win, but what the fuck.  show the world why you got 67 wins man.  That was a piss poor performance, and I'm with all the Dallas fans when they say it's time to bash Dirk right now.  Your MVP says it's over if they lose the third loss?  Then he plays like shit?  What the fuck man.  Tonight he needed to have SOME action and he just sat his ass back.

This series was totally awesome, but the most disappointing game was this one.  Come on mavericks.

Then again.....  it's hard to say let's not give up when jackson hits the first seven three pointers IN A ROW!!

This is a bad year for sports.  I hated Peyton winning the Superbowl.  I am the biggest Peyton Manning anti-fan.  I hope the Spurs don't win.  If the Spurs win, that would be the worst sports year ever for me.  PD, who do you pick to face the Warriors and who do you think will win in the next round?

Well in my GAF bracket I have Utah winning that series. Personally I think GS could beat either Utah or Houston, but I think they'd have a much easier time with Houston. TMac is similar to Dirk in the sense that he disappears in huge games, and also Yao wouldn't be able to run the floor.

Warriors should make it to the western conference finals and face the Spurs - at which point they'll be brought down to earth. I think the Spurs are going to win it all but damn...wouldn't it be fun to see GS and Phoenix play each other?

I agree with you on Tmac.  His jumper has been short and he's not taking it to the hole enough.  I don't know why the media keeps ragging on Yao even though Yao's game usually doesn't get worse in the playoffs, unlike Tmac.  Yao has been extra clutch with his FT shooting since his FG has gone down a bit.  It's just that the refs allow Utah to hack Yao whenever they're not playing in Houston.  Like I said before, I don't know what's the deal with getting more calls when you're playing at home.

What is the rest of your bracket?  Post it here.  The gaf thread is too crowded.

Warriors should make it to the western conference finals and face the Spurs - at which point they'll be brought down to earth. I think the Spurs are going to win it all but damn...wouldn't it be fun to see GS and Phoenix play each other?

That's what I fear the most.   :(  Although i'm holding out hope that the Suns can finally figure out the Spurs.

My life is disappointing enough, so this loss should not sting the least bit. Nevertheless it feels like I've been kicked in the groin by a mule, or Stephen Jackson, I'm not certain. Maybe it was Dirk... but I don't think he knows where balls are located.

As someone who suffers a great deal of anxiety... I can still sympathize with Dirk, though I do not really think I can cheer him on and be enthusiastic about it ever again.

Come on, man.  The Mavs still have a good chance to win the next few years.  I really think that they need to trade either Harris or Terry though.  Terry is better at making big shots but Harris is better at everything else.  Cuban also needs to loosen up the wallet again.

Well basically my bracket has the Spurs beating the Pistons for the championship. I had the Heat and Mavs winning their first round series. So yeah...it's not doing well.

It's funny that no one is talking about the eastern conference series; at half of the Mavs game Chuck said something along the lines of "oh, there are eastern conference teams in the playoffs?" :lol

I fully expect the Pistons/Bulls series to be great. The Bulls are the future of the east, and imo they're a couple steps away from being elite. They have two solid point guards, great bench players, two big time scorers, and more importantly they play real scrappy defense. It'll be fun watching Ben come back here to face the Pistons. There are a lot of people here who still haven't forgiven him, which baffles me. As far as I'm concerned he made the right decision.

Despite living in Michigan I don't like the Pistons, and I'd love to see the Bulls take them out.
