I got my new PC today, baby boo.

intel dual core 2.7 ghz (i know, intel, but i got a good deal)
1gb ram
nvidia 7800 GT
300 gb HDD
dual layer dvd writer
tv capture card

the monitor is small as balls, 15 inch. but i'll get a new one. this computer is fucking leaps ahead of my old one my old was...
2.0 ghz intel
512 mb ram
cd writer that never worked
20gb HDD
onboard video

are quad cores even viable yet? Do they have any purpose? Cause I found a good deal on a 2.4ghz quad core that peaked my interest. You'd know TVC. under a grand for a 2g quad core 2.4ghz.

It's a Dell XPS, but I added all the shit I wanted in it, so it's not even an XPS anymore. Pretty much custom. I just didn't want to put it together. I paid 876 for it.

This is pissing me off though. i keep creating a network so I can get my files off of the other computer, and I can't fucking do it. I make the network, but the computer won't find each other. I don't know what the fuck is the problem. I've done this a million times, but these two won't connect.

just do adhoc no need to use a router then. Just set both up and you can connect directly to it.

Adhoc should be under network connections at least it was for me.

eh, i split everything up and put it on my thumb drive.

but it was that price because of a company discount from my employer and a previous credit I had with Dell.
