Candy: aka another druggie movie

So I'm watching Candy and realizing I'm tired of drug movies.  I'm not sure if it I'm totally tired or if it's just this movie.  It's not poorly shot, I actually like some of the camera shots used. It's not that the acting is bad, the acting is good even if it feels a little overdone at a couple points.  It's just that I don't care about the charactes and I've seen it before.  Druggie boyfriend meets pretty girl with family with some money, they fall in love, they fall into drug dependancy, shit goes bad, etc. There's some parts were things feel like you're dealing with real characters, like when the mom goes off in the ktichen, but then it can only go so far because the characters start out as druggies, continue as druggies and you have no reason to care for them or to know hteir past or why they're here.

Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish do spend a lot of time early as naked, so thats one plus.  THe soundtrack is good, too.  It's just a tired subject, plot and you don't care about the characters.

Requiem was just fine with me. I don't know what else anything new would add to that type of film.
