Another expansion pack already! And free to play online at the price of 50 dollars! its a shame they cant just add new content without expansion packs for FREE since they are so FREE.

WoW is awful because they charge 15 a month! Its not FREE despite the worlds of free content offered every patch.

Maybe I should switch to Guild Wars for FREE online play right lolz suckers.

Given how little content the first Guild Wars expansion added -- admittedly, what was added WAS pretty, though -- I can't imagine how miniscule this 50 buck experience is gonna be.

This is a game I wanna like: it's pretty, has a great UI, and has a cool card mechanic. But the botched solo content and limited equipment, as well as the annoying mandatory crafting system just leave me cold. It's strictly for the PvP set.

MAF, you are old enough to know that nothing is for free.

However, the advocates for Guild Wars are apparently *not* old enough to know this.

It was pretty but there wasnt much there, much like a WoW patch, a lot of what was there was added for the higher levels and whatnot. The difference being that a slap in the face like that from WoW is free, its 50 dollars in Guild Wars.

It's a new Chapter, you get new classes. I don't mind paying for that.  It's paying a monthy fee for the same game with lesser service and customer support that bugs me. You still get free new content with GW.  They added two new dungeons and the Sorrow's Furnace area, along with new quests for level 20s all for free.

Nightfall does feel like its coming out too close to Factions though, and I haven't even finished all of Factions. On the other hand, unless they get majorly nerfed from the preview event, the new classes seem to be a lot better than the two Factions offered.

The chapter updates don't piss me off, it's ANets policy on character slots. If you bought Factions and Prophecies, but didn't link the two games on one account then you got 8 character slots.  If you link the two games to one account, thus making less of a mess for their own filing system and databanks, they give you 6 character slots.  So they cheap you out of 2 character slots for no real reason, then ask you to pay $7 to buy the slots you would have gotten if you just didn't link the games. Why not just not link the games? Because then you don't get to have all the skills and items you've unlocked on the new game, and those things are extremely important for PVP.  So what is their answer to this? Well now you can pay like $30 to have all skills unlocked without earning them. This is how they are being bastards. The line was 'only pay for major content' which I would say new classes and a new Chapter count as, but character slots and skills that are in the game anyways are not major new content at all.

Well in Prophecies I had 4 character slots filled, add two new classes and you'd new two more slots at least to play them right. Maybe I wasn't clear, it wasn't that you get 6  or 8 extra slots, its 6 8 slots total for characters.  So you either get 2 more slots or 4. If you play PVP you need a slot open to make a PVP char, and if you play alot of PVP you would like 2 slots for PVP, one for your normal class and one to remake, plus whatever slots you have used up on PVE chars... it just becomes a headache having to remake a character every few minutes because you need to change something.

I played a bit of the original game, bought Factions and basically never touched it, and I'm probably going to just pass on this.  Phantasy Star Universe is coming soon, who cares about GW now?   :P
