Unfortunately since it's TV you were probably exploited. That's show business. But it's just speculation at this point--maybe they painted you in a really positive light to give hope to the rest of us!
Yeah, well I do know that Ryan, the show's producer, was asked by TLC (who aired the first season of the show) to try and give the show a more mocking tone but he relented (thus, why the show is internet-only this season). Which is a good thing for me!
In the second episode, the Juliet cosplayer picked a guy who I happen to know in real life (met him at another con), and the show didn't make him look too bad (he is a pretty social and outgoing guy in person), so there's some hope!
