Green Man, sorry but that beard sucks.  I can relate, I can't make the connection between the mustache part and the rest of the beard and I'm 27.  10 years ago I was at the same point thinking that I can make that connection.  I can't and I doubt I ever will.  Not everyone has the kind of beard genetics to pull it off.  On the other hand, you should be fortunate that you seem to have a strong enough hairline.  That is more valuable than any kind of beard growing ability.

Try some growth every couple of years to see if things improve, but give up otherwise.
