Looking back, being a teenager sucked
« on: May 07, 2007, 10:49:30 PM »
I know adults tell kids that they don't want to grow up too fast, because high school is the greatest time of their lives and the last part of their life without real responsibilities - but what a crock of shit.

I didn't start living life until my twenties.

Pfft, the greatest part of your life is college, not high school. Being a teenager in high school sucks.

High school was awesome, and college was really awesome, but I have no desire to relive either period of my life.

Junior high, on the other hand, was the worst two years of my life.

Yeah teendom is just a struggle to get through.  It's not fun unless you're trust fund babies or such.

I remember most of my Senior year chitchats were with sophmores and freshmans who were stressed out, and I kept telling them to just wait it out and get through it. I wasn't a counseler, I was just approachable. =/

yeah, teenage life blows hard. Ask any adult if they would like to go back to Jr High or Highschool and I'm positive 99 out of 100 will say no.

Looking back, I sadly seemed to be more productive as a human being and had a better (read: any) idea what I wanted to do with my life and how to go about accomplishing that.

Although I'm not your usual person, I guess.

Middle school through Highschool wasn't much fun. I was pretty much the kid people liked to kick around, and I think that ruined college for me.

But whatever, I make money now, so fuck all ya'll motha fuckers.

But going onto facebook and looking up all the jerks and assholes that were mean to you back in school and seeing how they're doing now. It's like: YOU GOT FAT. I feel the same way sometimes, haha.

What was bad for me was when everyone else got acne too, after I'd been battling it for like 3 years and was finally getting rid of it. They would ask me for pointers to get rid of it and everything. Looking back, it would have been awesome if I had told them some weird concoction that would have burned off their skin or something. I was too nice and eager to be accepted back then, though.

Yeah, I found out about some of the kids who used to pick on me... they didn't do shit with their lives; one's a coke addict, another's jobless, another is having major quarter-life crisis issues, another is balding, etc. While I'm out here living the good life  :-*

I was pretty much a jackass in high school. I am pretty embarassed by how I acted in hindsight. At the time, I was having the time of my life. But in reality I hurt a lot of people and probably made their lives uncomfortable.

The best thing about being a teenager is that you can have a boner all day.  I bet many of us guys are going to miss those days when we get older.

Can you please answer what HR stands for?  I guess it would be kinda embarrassing for you to be giving a presentation with a boner.  I think I figured out why we always have to wear white coats when working with patients.

This is why you have to be nice to the pretty girls with skin problems in high school.  When they bloom from ugly duckling to beautiful swan, they'll probably date you while they're in the transition period before they start to date the asshole jocks.

Agreed. Although I had my skin problems in junior high. Then I dated a musician and then a valedictorian in my transition period before I went to Ecrofirt the jock. :)

I liked the team captain. He told James I had a nice rack. ;)

He was also quite dumb, but in a fun way.

The "freshman nights" though? Where they invite a bunch of freshman girls to a party and see how many will sleep with them? Sad.

I was a 5'7", 185lb offensive guard. At the time I was bench pressing 300lbs, and I really needed to. I was up against much bigger guys every game. I had a blast with it though. It was awesome holding my own against guys that outweighed me by 50-80lbs (I'm guessing here, but d-tackles are usually hefty fuckers).

Now I'm 205lbs with a gut and a weight bench in my basement I don't use.  :'(

i liked being a teenager.  i wouldn't relive it for anything though.  Being free and being in the real world makes you realize how much better you have it now.  But it's all relative.  it didn't suck WHILE you were living it.
