This was a tough one. But I have to say Tired of Sex and El Scorcho edge it out slightly over The Sweater Song and Say it Ain't So.

Speaking of which, Weezer is one band that went straight to shit. After the Green Album they fucking suck (with Make Believe being merely okay)

Matt Sharp reassembled The Rentals in some form or another. Don't know if anything is actually happening though.

No falsetto backup vocals = Weezer lose.

This reminds me of an awesome review of Pinkerton I found somewhere (probably pitchfork):

Pinkerton is also one of the few albums to receive NO STARS from Rolling Stone.

Not like I give a shit, but I wonder if all the negative reviews of Pinkerton got to Rivers? And that's why we have this watered-down Weezer bullshit nowadays.

And Cyanista, I would say Linkin Park has a lot more to do with the rock-rap stylings of a Run-DMC - or better yet, RATM - than they have to do with NIN. But I know what you're saying.

Yeah, it got to Rivers. He became depressed, locked himself in a room for months at time trying to figure out how to write the perfect pop song. He made a notebook that contained all these musical theories he came up with as to why stuff like The Beatles and the Beach Boys was popular, and tried to dissect the components of their songs. He starved himself for days, blacked out the windows and shut off the lights, meditated, did yoga, deprived himself of sleep, all in the name of trying to create the perfect song. Then he sorta snapped out of that, threw away all of his notes, and came up with the Green album. Go figure.
