What's your favorite conspiracy theory?
« on: May 09, 2007, 10:06:48 AM »
Not that you believe it, but which one do you find the most fascinating?

For me, it's the Vince Foster suicide conspiracy.

My favorite conspiracy theory is that negroes are actually apes.
This reminds me of something I heard in class yesterday.

*in regards to the prompt on the board*
Kid: What's evolution? [yes, this really happened]
Dumb Cunt Teacher: Uhh well uhh evolution is a belief that some people have that says humans are descendants of monkeys. [I shit you not]
Kid: Monkeys? That's stupid.
Idiot Girl: If we came from monkeys then why are there still monkeys today?
Kid: nicca if someone ever tries to tell me I came from an ape I'll beat they ass. I'm no ape.

And thus, the new generation is born.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
This was actually in a freshman class I happened to be in at the time. Still disturbing people are so ignorant, even more the teachers.

They didn't teach you about evolution, Darwinism, and survival of the fittest in HS biology? Goddamn. Hell, we were learning about some of that in MS, but we didn't into straight Darwinism until HS. I guess Texas schooling is better than other places then.

Tinhat Society those guys that are crazy about 9-11 and other government things of recent history. Those nutters make me laugh, no offense. To be a good conspiracy theory you've got to convince others enought to believe the lie. Cause you really have no proof. And those fuckers have gotten a good number of people to follow them. Granted theres question I'd want answered, these people dont wait for the truth they fill in their own "truth" to fit their crazy ideas.

White people evolved from black people and now they turned their masteres into slaves. How about that for a conspiracy theory?

911 has to be the worse conspiracy theory. So much of it is based on taking incidents and quotes out of context, With Kennedy it's not hard to believe in a conspiracy because if you can show there were more than one shooters, you have a conspiracy right there.

But unlike most conspiracies, the Kennedy one really has no true answer. Was it the government, or was it the mob? The idea of it being LBJ is quite ridiculous. The thing that ruins most conspiracy theories is the little things. For instance, if LBJ really did kill Kennedy, why was he scared shitless by the attack, and why did he tell his aides that he thought this was a possible Soviet attack? It's the same with 911; if Bush really knocked the towers down, why was he so shocked and...confused when he was told what happened while in the class room? That entire incident has become an example of him being "weak", at least to the far left, but in reality it shows a man who's just heard the worse news you can possibly be told.

I think it was the mob.

BTW, I remember the Georgia textbook thing, with the stickers. My high school didn't need evolution stickers.

"Class, this next chapter is on evolution. However, we aren't going to teach this, because it's not true. Next chapter after that!"

Seriously, if I ever had any evolution in high school, it was only for like a day and we didn't even have a quiz or anything over it. This is happening at the same time my church is distributing free Answers in Genesis materials to everyone like it was candy at Halloween.

Seperation of church and state in KY lolz.

The 'bubububububu it's only a theory*' stickers. They should add the 'we're so stupid that we don't know what a scientific theory is or implies'.

yeah they know if they keep the state close-minded and isolated enough by putting stickers on genuine science textbooks than they can get re-elected.  I'm wondering what it says, do all the students just rip it off and put it on the teacher's desk.

What's the conspiracy theory about that?

I like how people think The Holocaust didn't happen. The WWII Holocaust, where they killed 6 million Jews and other people as well. That Holocaust.

Holocaust Revisionism is too transparent to be intriguing. MKULTRA is awesome, and so is anything Elders of Zion related. My personal favorite is still the Cult of Moloch (http://www.propagandamatrix.com/archivebohemiangrove.html), though.

Roanoke Island
What's the conspiracy theory about that?

From Wikipedia:

Roanoke Island was the site of the 16th century Roanoke Colony, the first English colony in the New World in what was then called Virginia, in honor of England's ruling monarch, Queen Elizabeth I, popularly known as the "virgin queen" because she never married. There were two major groups of settlers who attempted to establish a permanent settlement at Roanoke Island, and each failed.

The first attempt to establish the Roanoke Colony was run by Ralph Lane after Sir Richard Grenville, who had transported the colonists to Virginia, returned to England for supplies. These colonists were ill-prepared and not particularly clever, because, although they depended upon the local American Indians for food, they also antagonized the Indians by such tactics as kidnapping them and holding them hostage in exchange for information. Unfortunately for the colonists, who were desperately in need of supplies, Grenville's return was delayed. As a result, when Sir Francis Drake put in at Roanoke after destroying the Spanish colony of St. Augustine, the entire population of the colony returned with Drake to England.

In 1587, the English again attempted to settle Roanoke Island, led by John White. However, John White left the colony to return to England for supplies that he felt would help them to survive, expecting to return to Roanoke Island within 3 months. Instead, he found England at war with Spain, and all ships were confiscated for use in the war efforts. His return to Roanoke Island was delayed until 1590. When he finally returned, the colonists had disappeared. The only thing he found was the word "Croatoan" carved into a post of the fort and "Cro" carved into a nearby tree, telling about the Indians who lived close by. Their fate has never been authoritatively ascertained, and they became known as "The Lost Colony".
