I think it's much more likely that the Wii is a piece of garbage, since the other versions of the game turned out fine.

I'm surprised by the notices.  Especially since Spider-Man was (I think) the first third party Wii game to be publicy known to exist.

but hey, Ghost Squad is coming, so that makes all the pain go away.

Garbage in, garbage out.

Or in the Wii's case, garbage inside and out.

To be fair, this is a great example of one of the huge problems that Nintendo didn't care about when they put the Wii togehter-the machine is unfriendly to third parties looking for a multiplatform release. It's so far behind that PS3/360 that art assets and engine code have to be altered dramatically to get things to work. So the nfans will complain about third party efforts being lackluster, but I'd say that Nintendo pretty much boxed those third parties into a corner. It'll only get worse and the PS2 gets more and more aged and ports from that platform are fewer and far between.

There are good ports on the Wii as well as bad ports on the 360/PS3, it's just a question of lazy uncreative devs or devs that actually want a piece of the Wii pie.  I don't think Nintendo is boxing 3rd parties into a corner, but pushing them out of the box they've been stuck in.  It's only the publishers refusal to grow beyond graphical updates of the same action game I've been playing for 6 years that is the issue.  The Wii is pretty much a demand upon the industry to think in new ways.  If you're like Activision and don't adjust, you won't get a piece of the Wii's growing userbase.  If you're like Ubi or EA and make a game with something new in mind, you will get rewarded.

What if you're a developer that doesn't want to make a game that looks like shit?

I love how the concept of the Wii was to use the controller to immerese gamers into their games. Yet, they failed to realize that having shitty graphics negates any of those benefits.

Next gen still sucks.

Why? What about the Wii should inspire developers? The WiiMote doesnt actually offer up that many unique movements currently. Its a lot of swipes and maybe twists from what ive seen.

Developers are a progressive and highly competitive bunch, and the Wii isn't about that. Why spend resources on a platform where you get Gamecube level performance. WiiMote may impress people so bored with gaming they shoulda maybe left the scene, but devs are still the same. Nintendo is the exception because they designed the WiiMote, and even their efforts aside from WiiSports and WiiPlay, are almost all borrowed from the DS (cooking mama, trauma center) or tacked on (Zelda).
