Every damn part on my computer is breaking!
« on: May 10, 2007, 08:58:58 PM »
My monitor only works if I hit it really hard over and over. Even then it just dies like half way through reading shit and I have to whack it a few more times to get it to do anything. My HDD keeps making this weird clacking sound so I'm sure that's about to go tits up. I can't even run my PC with the sides on anymore because it keeps overheating, even after putting new thermal paste on. My speakers keep only playing the right channel half the time. And now my mouse is all jittery and skips all over the screen. This has all happened since I started posting on EB. What the balls?

Yeah, like 3 years ago.

That's sad. :( I bought my PC for $850 or so from Dell like 3 years ago and it works fine. Of course, I also have a boyfriend who fixes it when I think it breaks.

It really sucks because all the major parts that are breaking all have like 3 year warranties on them. Dell 19" LCD warranty was up 6 months ago, maxtor HDD warranty was up about 3 months ago, etc. I'll know which parts not to choose next time.  :maf

I hate how that happens. Seriously. It's like shit is programmed to fail right after the warranty is up!

I recall the time you were pretty sure your hard drive was dying, and it ended up being because of a piece of paper you had taped to a CD that you had in your drive. I'll never forget to open the CD drive on a PC again if it's acting funny.
