How are those New Years Resolutions working out for ya?
« on: May 11, 2007, 10:56:49 AM »

Original thread: http://www.evilbore.com/forum/index.php?topic=3592.0

Mine was to get back into shape and quit drinking so much soda. Well, I have lost 17 pounds (from 224 to 207) from working out ... but I still drink about 1-2 liters of mountain dew a day (hello 1700 calories in liquid form). If I could have kicked the habit, I would be down to my target weight by now (190). Oh well ..

My plan was to be more outgoing and head to the gym. So far I'm not outgoing, but I do have my gym schedule ready. So 1 out of 2 right now.

There's still plenty of time to be more outgoing

. . you have your gym "schedule" ready?  Have you actually -gone- to the gym?  Stepped on the treadmill?

I don't make new year's resolutions.  Might as well draft up 'what i'm going to feel bad about come june'.

I've slowly but surely been getting into better shape.  Now that my wife is done with school for the semester I can start working out more...maybe.  We got an ablounge so I can start using that more as well as an eliptical.  I just need some dumbells and I'll be all set.

1. Get a job.- well, I got a job then quit it, so technically I accomplished this.
2. Use the monies I get from said job to purchase at least an acoustic guitar, maybe an electric down the road as well.  Learn to play said guitar(s).- nope
3. Lose some weight.- yep, I've lost maybe 15-20 pounds just from cutting out sodas and fast food from my diet, as well as taking walks.

1)To be a better friend/lover/overall guy for the love of my life Roxy
I'm trying hard to do this, things are fucked up. She's still special to me and I wont give up

2)Loose some damn weight
Went from 365 to 312 from febuary to now which is nice

3)Go back to school and try this time. And no matter how hard it gets not give up.
I've got a full symester of fall classes lined up that i'm going to take.

4)Move to be closer to my love
After i'm in good academic standing, I do wish to move out of fresno and go to another school. Hopefully closer to Roxy.

5)Get a License and a vehicle
Got the permit in march, been driving the LS a lot. Getting ready for the behind the wheel test here in a few weeks. Then its time for a new car.

6)Get a good job that can support me.
Got a great job thats just awesome working at a theater. They offered me new job inside the company that I'm hoping I can take over here in a month or two. Its making me money and thats a good thing.

7)Not lie to anyone
Still working on this with you internet people. I've been very honest with those in my real life though. And I'm still getting help for my problems.

This is a good year for me so far. Maybe not the best in terms of how I feel about life. But I know I got a lot of good going on in my life.

Get a PS3

Watch some more movies. (still haven't seen a lot of that AFI list  Undecided)

Get a girlfriend.

Number one: haven't even started saving the money, but by summers end I should have a Triple.

Number two: I have definitely watched a lot of movies, and I've got the Seven Samurai and the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly to watch this summer.... actually, I might watch the Seven Samurai this weekend, I've been putting it off because of schoolwork.'

Number three: I should have one tonight.  :D

I thought you said that the heaviest you were was 315?  I'm almost sure of it.  It was only like two days ago.

1) Get back to learning REAL guitar - if i learn with the crappy acoustic I have, an electric will be a snap
was for a little bit...I've stopped

2) Watch more of the classic movies I haven't seen
I watched Alien...

3) Get a real fucking job (not some sub janitorial work, even if it pays decently)
Nope

4) Actually go on a few dates, or just hang out with some chicks for a change
Failure, unless you count talking on the phone longer than any straight man should.

5) Stay on my gym schedule (I got lazy the past month)
Stopped going

Yeah plataue weight is somewhere around 315. I've been stuck at this weight area for a few weeks now. But I weighted 365 in Febuary.

My bad, homie.

Is that kind of weight loss healthy?  That's a lot of weight to drop in three months or less.

I've never felt better dude. Its been a lot of work to get the weight off. But its been easy and my doctor has been monitoring me on a biweekly basis. Right now i'm down cause of some surgery I had, but i'm still working out with weights and stuff. Just cant go bike riding and stuff. My goal was to loose 120 pounds this year. And I'm already halfway to that goal basically.
