The game is for people wanting WoW with different scenery, disaffected WoW players, and/or Tolkien nerds.

WoW is a better game, but in this business being a bett er game doesn't mean you'll get all the subscribers. Turbine's got a good game and will do very, very well with it.

I originally thought LOTRO would be a killer game, but now...meh. The music is a real turn off to me. WHY NOT HAVE THE HOWARD SHORE MUSIC OMG.

Music is irrelevant in an MMO.  If there is music, chances are you have it turned off by hour 10 and are listening to mp3s instead.

The game does have some very nice sound cues that coincide with the scary filters and effects that appear when bad mojo is happening, but overall the sound design is pretty much the same as any other MMO.  Fact is that scores and music just don't fly in this genre.

EA used the music in it's LOTR games though. LOTRO isn't from EA.
