You have to keep track of the turns you do and you never can go into the gravel too fast. If you just start sliding up the curb or the gravel to overtake somebody at a turn, you'll live like in real life. You also have to keep track of weight distribution to see how you're car can take a turn. There's a big difference between braking too late in a R2 class car and C class, you can not make any mistakes at all in R2 class. I usually drive with the draft/momentum meter on in the HUD. The game is very little about cutting off the other player since as long as you keep in the best racing line, he won't try to spin you on purpose and most likely he's going to screw up and make a traffic jam trying to get past you (the difficulty's on easy).
