Final Fantasy I & II PSP and FFXII Zodiac Job System are technically numbered FFs.

But yeah, Square's really whoring out the franchise.

I'm counting remakes/ports as "outside" the main series, esp. since they have new graphics, gameplay systems, etc.

* FFTA2 -- cool, SRPGs are a plus

* Anything on PSP that gets english translation because I won't buy them anyway, except I & II because WE'VE PLAYED THEM ALREADY ON EVERY SYSTEM IMAGINABLE

* Don't know anything about those stupid XIII spinoffs, no interest at this point

* Dissidia is supposed to be like Ehrgeiz/Smash Bros with Final Fantasy -- uh... ok? It's on PSP, see PSP note.

* Revenant Wings is supposed to be like Lost Magic, real time strategy... I'll get it, I probably won't care for it. Maybe I will.

That's it for me. I don't own a PSP or Wii, so I can't really say anything about those titles. FFXII Zodiac System is cool and all, but we won't get it in NA, and I'd never play it due to my limited gaming time and massive backlog.

I'd say FFX-2 was the beginning of the end for them... I am not really ready to lay the blame for their IP whoring on Enix, as Enix was known for carefully managing their most famous property and had a lot of creative little games on the side (of varying quality, yeah, but irregardless) to complement their bread and butter.

It seems x-2 was the last he produced. Ironically it seems square went off a deep end around that time. I doubt it is due to him, but ironic all the same.
