Is the documentary "On The Edge of Blade Runner" (I think that's what it's called)? That is a sweet doc, I saw it on Google Video.

3 cuts of the film on 1 DVD? Brutal.

EDIT: Oops, my bad. Its 3 on 2 DVDs. Even still, this kinda stinks, since they'll probably do something distinguished mentally-challenged like the Apocalypse Now set and put half of each cut on each disc.

I hope there's a two three disc set.  I don't want to shell out for all this shit when all I really want are the first two three discs.

This is a good year for DVD releases, with this and the Dollars trilogy and all.

Guess the people are going to milk DVD for all it's worth while they still can.

Nah, they'll probably make it branching.  Blade Runner's not long enough to be split into two discs, I think.

My guess is disk two is branching versions of the two theatrical cuts with disk 3 being the remastered director's cut released a few months back.

Holy shit...  I cannot believe they included the workprint version.  This really is the best DVD presentation of a movie ever.  Charlie de Lauzirika (producer of DVD set) is a god.

well what is great about this is not the extra's but every verision of the film in history is on it. Only the DC has been out since DVD started. We get the brand new cut, and the older cuts as well.

Does that mean you just buy single disk DVDs?

Most of the time new cuts and the better transfer are not released on their own.

WB is one of the few companies who release the same quality/verision of a film on single and double disks. Most do not. Most of the time if you want the fancier cut and the better transfer you have to get the multi-disk set.

Because most of the time for older movies you can't get it with the new cut and the new transfer without getting the extra disk!

You rarely have a choice. If he wants the new Fistfull of Dollars movie but doesn't care about extra's he'll still buy the new one that costs more and has an extra disk! Because the old one has a bad transfer and isn't in good quality. It is how it works for 80% of all old movies that are re-released Michelle. Please shut up unless you know what your talking about! :shh

No one goes out of there way to be a pisspoor verision of a film to avoid extras.

For what? You were rambling about somehow magically buying dvd's without the double disk that don't exist.

Like I said that is not the norm. Especially for older films.

I see so many older forms with single disks. And some have like half the movie on one side of the disk. But only fools buy those...

Charlie de Lauzirika (producer of DVD set) is a god.

Indeed he is. Whether I like the particular movie or not, DVDs he produces are ALWAYS top notch, and full of fantastic content. I actually bought the Gladiator SE simply because he was involved.

He said on the HTF board that do not worry about the final cut of the film that ridley knows what he is doing and I trust the guy.

uh but they have shitty transfers most likely and are the ones from like 1999 (not just double sided ones). No one buys those anymore, even if they hate extras. They tend to be barely above VHS in quality.

Are they going to release this in any HD format? Seems like a waste to do all that work and only release a 480p version. Still, I'll get this... it's an awesome package.
HD-DVD. WB has put in one of those little pamplets in recent dvds advertising it.

Blu Ray, too, based on a recent interview with the head of Warner.
