do NOT regard the 1up review of this game -- it's inane. The Operation Sports folks LOVE this game. Yes, it is online -- in fact, it even syncs up the results of your season with the current real-world MLB season. http://previews.operationsports.com/previews.aspx?game=mlb07ps3

I snatched the PSP version, since I get far more opportunities to play my PSP than my consoles.

Hyp: we could do versus in a week or so, I need time to practice. This is my first basebal game since....since the dreamcast I think haha.

Also .HACK! But yeah i'll buy a six pack and hunker down for some versus at some point.

Also I bought Pinball FX; fuck gamespot. Two of the three tables are a lot of fun and the physics are fine. I dont care about tilt physics anyway. Maybe that doesnt make me HARDCORE in the PINBALL ELITE CIRCLE but wtf.

Is it really the best baseball game? This is getting me very curious. I haven't played a great baseball game in quite some time. I need to keep my eye on this franchise for whenever I get a PS3. I have grown to accept the fact sony first party sports games are bad, things changed I take it.

Sony's MLB titles have always been pretty good, but the franchise made MASSIVE strides with MLB 06 The Show. MLB 07 builds on that base and provides probably the best pure baseball SIM on the larger market. You can't go wrong with any of the 3 versions -- PS2, PSP, or PS3.

Gamespot finally posted its review of The Show. a strong 8.2. They give Kudos to the Road to The Show mode which IGN thought was worse than PS2 07's version. Boggle.

I am also surprised how much graphics counts for with reviewers these days.

Actually I read a bit more, looks like this should have me worried:

1up didnt really seem to have even played the game. IGN and Gamespot at least took their time getting a proper review out.

Goddamn EGM and 1Up have become the Gamepro of gaming publications...fuck...SUB GamePro level at this point. Most of the reviews in EGM these days are childish rants about their quirky likes and dislikes.

Yeah a lot of the reviews have turned into these weird conversations I might overhear in a video-game store, which is not what I really expect from a gaming PUBLICATION.

But to each their own I guess, at the very least they amuse themselves which keeps them from fucking up important matters that might actually affect me.
