TOLEDO, Ohio — The mother of a man charged with raping a 7-year-old girl he baby-sat has been accused of having sex with her son in front of the girl, police said.

The mother, Terry Walker, 54, was charged with sexual battery Wednesday. She did not enter a plea.

Her son, 28-year-old Kevin Ware, told investigators that the girl saw him having sex with his mother, police said.

Police believe the sexual relationship began four years ago, said Sgt. Sam Harris. He said Ware has baby-sat the girl for at least three years.

Ware was charged on May 3 with rape, illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and gross sexual imposition. He remained jailed and had not entered a plea.

There is no phone listing for either Ware or Walker. Neither has an attorney.
