I just finnised the first 6 eps. The gay Dutch trader was awesome.

So far it feel like a good companion piece to Bebop. Though there haven't been any of those super serous eps like Spikes arch that made Bebop so good.

It's pretty good, but nothing great. The first episode set a high bar, which the series never ever matched or exceeded.

Gotta agree with himuro, first episode was incredible, it was all a decently entertaining downhill ride from there.

That's why I find the series so disappointing. Not because it isn't Bebop in Japan, but because the rest of the series has nothing on the quality of the first episode, which was bad fucking ass.

I think he means episodes that have no correlation to one another and don't feel like they have one concrete theme, like Bebop did. It makes the characterization and story feel random, much like a kids afternoon program show.

I think people have gotten spoiled by series that have these long-running storylines. There's a place for shows that have stories that can be wrapped up in 30 minutes. Absolutely nothing wrong with 'em!

Yeah, I have no problem with that at all, I love Bebop after all, but Champloo was lacking..SOMETHING. I don't know, I haven't finished it. I've seen more than half the series tho.

I like the one where they run into the foreign blonde girl who seems to be a giant compared to everybody else.

It's a really good show, though, basically just an animated version of one of the historical dramas that typically air on Japanese TV.

It was a really fun show. I loved how it had two female protagonists but they didn't try to shoehorn in a lame romance angle or fan service.

Honestly this is the best ep cause its so absurd, but I love the Sake and Evil Doubles episode too.

For a character thats in 13 eps of an anime, Lady Meow is pretty high up on my list of favorite anime characters tho.

I watched like 30 eps of Gundam Seed Destiny and in that 30 eps the story goes NOWHERE. It just rehashes a bunch of shit from the first Seed.

Destiny is obnoxious because basically the heroes from the first 26 episodes become tyrants and fuck over the main character a bunch. I know the people who made it probably wanted that but in such a cotton candy fluff series of gundam it doesnt quite work.

From what I've read, the first Seed was never intended to have a sequel, so when Destiny was announced, there was no real story planned, no outline, no structure...they just kept pulling stuff out of their ass, which would explain why it's apparently so terrible. I know I must see it someday, since it's Gundam, but I'm not looking forward to it.

Also, like in Seed, the mecha design are AWFUL.

Fukuda and his wife, who was one of the script writers, pretty much fucked things up with the production, preventing it from having any semblance of coherence. They threw Kira back into the fold due to his popularlity with Japanese fans, but then had no idea what the hell to do.

No third series, but there will be a SEED theatrical movie to wrap things up.

Yes, I guess so. Cowboy Bebop, Planetes, Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Now and Then, Here and There are pretty good suggestions for the non anime fan as well because they're pretty much the best anime series' ever.

There's been talk of adapting Gundam Unicorn (UC era novels and manga) into a TV series.
