The original theatrical version or extended director's cut? I'm leaning towards the theatrical.

Alien has a DC too, but Scott didn't want that one, apparently.

i found this:

Aliens found James Cameron take over the reigns as director, and for once the tag line really did say it all “This time it's war”. Eschewing the tense horror of its predecessor, Aliens was all about thrills and adrenalin. It's a great example of how to do a sequel, Cameron's story opens up the story and adds to the world of the Alien's and Ripley, whilst also proving the audience with what they want, plenty of violent and thrilling Alien action. The special edition version included on the disc has been around for several years now and has come to replace the original version as the definitive one to watch.

this might be spoilerish

The restored sub plot of Ripley discovering she'd out lived her daughter adds a great deal of poignancy to her relationship with Newt, whilst the sentry gun sequence quite simply rocks

it's about a restored subplot that isn't in the tc, and it kinda gives a better light on the relationship between the characters.

Just watch the Extneded cut of Aliens.

The quote of Bud really is true. It is the perfect sequel for the original.

Yeah, the EC is good, but doesn't the extra stuff fuck up the continuity of the sequel a little, or am I thinking of something else?

Who cares the sequal sucks. Its a bunch of fegs running around with blow tourches.

Anyone know what the original story for alein 3 was gonna be? Cause the ending of Aliens was bad ass with the aliens stowed away onboard.

And the EC of Aliens is the only one i will ever watch. i remember a family member showing it to me back in 95 it was awesome and still is.
