It's Super Robot Wars or something.

You know there are lots of fan translations for these games, Error? Gideon Zhi is a big contributor.

Demi: I heard about the fan translations of the SNES games and apparently they are working on a fan translation on SRW Alpha Gaiden for PS1.

yeah that's the new SRW game for PS2, probably the last one in a good while.

right, but it's just so japped up.  I may get into the whole idea and watch every new attack I get and make a 10 hour game 60 hours or I'll return it immediately because the story is too weird.

the majority of the SRW games have mechs and characters from other animes but OGs (Original Generations) is just Banpresto original creations (characters and mechs)

Wait, so there actually is a chance of this one coming to the US?

not having mechs and characters from other anime series means that, yeah it has a chance.

Why are you getting a jp ps2 when you can just get swap magic? Don't you have a pstwo? That's wasting unecessary money. Unless you have the fat ps2, there's really no reason to import a Japanese ps2, and even then, it would be far cheaper to simply get a slim ps2 and swap magic along with it. There's no reason to own a Jp console of anything unless it's a handheld.

reminds me of some snes yuyu hakusho fighters that had a rock-paper-scizors kind of system, except this one has looooong cutscenes. it might be interesting the first time you play with a character, but it probably gets old fast.

This is a compilation of the two Original Generation GBA titles, which Atlus actually localized for North America last year. That gives me a little hope that Atlus will bring this over for North American PS2s.

If not, I guess I can just import it and run it on my fat PS2 via SwapMagic.

What part of this is supposed to be impossible on the PS2? I'm not being wowed on a technical level here.

I have no clue, either.

-Theres plenty reason to do so.  Not all games are compatible with swap magic, and swapping is a pain in the ass.  JP ps2 is the best alternative for a hassle free experience with importing.

I have never found swapping to be a pain in the ass on any of the consoles I play imports on, but that's just me I guess
