no signal or digital roaming...
« on: May 27, 2007, 11:49:29 PM »
this is the one thing i truly hate about my phone.  i love sending text messages, i send like 60 an hour probably while i'm awake.

but anyways, at work, my phone has a tendency of being in one of two zones of signals

1.) no bars, but still in my service area

2.) digital roaming

I don't fucking get it, i can send text messages just like regular in my digital roaming, but if i have no bars and i'm still in my service area, i get a fucking error.

and guess which one my phone is usually in, no bars and still in my service area.  fucking balls.  is there a way to force my phone to roam???

The building is absorbing the signal. Think of the building as a faradey cage. its meant to block static elctricity. The buildings frame absorbs said energy and difuses it. Just as the cage would so that nothing charges. This is why most cell phone's suck in doors. Unless they have a repeater which arent cheap most buildings will absorb a good deal of the signal. Easy way to tell if you get good cell coverage indoors is a FM radio. if you get clear sound off the worst possible channel its likely you've got great cell coverage.

gay

we have repeaters, but i guess they're only for certain phones or something?  any company issued phone (cingular, nextel, etc) working fucking perfect in the building.  is that possible, to do it by phone or company?

Yes its possible

At our theaters we use cell blockers durring the busy evenings so people dont have phones going off.

if your company phones work fine i'd suspect they are using a repeater set for that specific freqency. And no you cant spoof that stuff. On world phones yes but not on domestic phones.
