Okay, so I met up with this independent movie producer. I showed her a script that I was working on and she seemed to take a shine to my writing style. However, my script was way more geared to fantasy sci fi, something she said her company's not interested in. But she said that if I can do something else, and if it's good, she thinks she can turn it into a real movie.

Now, here are the guidelines.

-Since it's relatively low budget, it can't be anything that would cost too much to make (so forget your dreams of seeing Waterworld 2 come to fruition)
-Can't be horror, or too sci fi-esque.
-Adventure scripts or comedies would be Preferable(though not required)

Now, go! Suggest like the wind!

I thought an movie revolving around this premise would be interesting:

You can basically use it as a catalyst for anything.

wemcould give you good ideas but the idea is only 10% It really comes to execution both in terms of the script and the actual production.

I'm sure someone's probably working on those as well, if they haven't already. :/

Yeah that's a horror film, you can take it another way ie a adventure comedy. Man gets heart transplant has all these memories about his donor, tracks down and finds the girlfriend of the donor, falls in love with her tries to attempt to win her heart with the memories and realises that she should love him fo him.  Pure quriky rom-com material.

How about a movie that follows a news reporter doing a story on the most powerful media mogul in america right after his death. The story could be told through flashbacks and interviews with people that knew him.

If you use this give me credit:

High school sophomore Samantha "Sam" Baker has a big crush on Jake Ryan, who she believes does not know that she exists. He is, in fact, aware of her and, though he is in a relationship with prom-queen Caroline, his interest in Samantha begins after finding a note about him written by her.

Ginny, Samantha's older sister, is getting married and the entire family's attention is focused onto her rather than onto Samantha's upcoming sixteenth birthday. On the eve of Ginny's wedding, Samantha's entire family forgets her birthday. In the midst of pre-wedding chaos, a weird foreign exchange student Long Duk Dong visits the Bakers' home as the guest of his hosts Grandma and Grandpa Baker. Her family forces her to go to a dance with him. She abandons him at the event, but he meets another girl there and they're inseparable for the rest of the night. Meanwhile, Samantha becomes upset when she sees Jake dancing with his girlfriend, Caroline Mulford, and then her unwanted admirer, a geeky freshman named Ted, very awkwardly tries to dance with her.

To win a set of floppy disks, Ted bets with his friends that he will sleep with Samantha ("By night's end, I predict me and her will interface.") and bring back her underwear as proof. Following Samantha into the shop room, Ted makes a couple of unsuccessful attempts to accomplish his goal. Their ensuing conversation includes Ted's admission that he has "never bagged a babe" and Samantha exposing her crush on Jake. Ted's confrontation with Jake in the gym just prior revealed Jake's apparent interest in Samantha, and Ted recounts what was said. After talking and getting to know each other, Ted confesses the wager and suggests an alternative. Samantha gives Ted her underwear to help him out.

Later (after a peep show of Samantha's underpants for $1 admission), the geek and his equally unwelcome friends Cliff and Bryce attend a senior after-party at Jake's ("party hardy dude-person") which ends up into a complete disaster that almost destroys the house. At night's end, Jake finds Ted trapped under a table, and they too chat. Ted explains to Jake the situation with Samantha and gives him her underwear. In return, Jake lends Ted a car - his father's Rolls Royce convertible - as well as his fully inebriated girlfriend Caroline.

Meanwhile, Samantha's parents apologize about forgetting her birthday, and Samantha confides to her father about her crush who "doesn't know she exists." He tells her to go and talk to Jake, and to not let him overpower her.

After a wild night with the drunken Caroline, during which he attempts to record his unbelievable fortune in a botched photo, Ted and Caroline wake up in a church parking lot in the back seat of a Rolls Royce. Caroline reveals to an unsure Ted that they had sex during the night, and that she thought it was "sweet", delighting Ted. Jake finds them in the parking lot and breaks up with Caroline on friendly terms. He then goes to find Samantha, whom he tried unsuccessfully talk to the whole night.

Ginny's wedding proceeds despite her menstrual cramps and a mild overdose of muscle relaxants, which result in a comedic ceremony. Upon exiting the church, the wedding party slowly dissipates, and Samantha is left standing alone. Jake is seen leaning against his Porsche across the street and gestures to Samantha, which, at first, bewilders her.

In the subsequent and final scene, to the archetypal 1980s pop-ballad "If You Were Here" by the Thompson Twins, the profiles of Jake and Samantha can be seen lit by the candles of a birthday cake between them. Jake asks her to make a wish which she says has already come true. They kiss.

Needs a wacky asian character with a potentially offensive name.

Cheebs, I don't watch a lot of movies, so I just want to make sure, you're not parodying something are you? :/

Also, I guess I'll have to provide something more persuasive.

The one with the best idea gets to be greeted with my good friend, Benjamin Franklin. Plus some hot sexy photos of myself in various compromising positions. Though in reality, you might just get one or the other.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I won't say which one.

I can say with all honesty, it is not a parody.

And TVC, Long Duk Dong isn't offensive enough of a name? :(

Father_Mike's idea isn't that bad but the audience is too small and probably has been done better as some film regarding a family coming back together for a funeral.

Also we want a share of the profits not some pity donation  :P

I think you should write a non-fantasy live action teen film (that has gentle nodds to an adult audience) i.e. a naive homeschooled black boy that discovers that creationism isn't real and sex once he goes to unversity.

Ok How about internet goers get together for the funeral where a member killed them selves.  It will be a social commentary on the place and meaning of friendship in a society where lives are too busy for friends.  Social commentaries always have a wide audience!   :lol

Another idea (probably been done before):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumspringa

Yes that would work but one would have to have cyber sex relationship with the deceased whom he was cheating on etc.

You can make a movie about a man who has revealing and life altering photos of him taken and tries to get them back but the viewer doesn't know what the photos are of.

Oh and it'd be a comedy of course.

You ain't gettin em for free, honey.  :-*

Also, guys. I'm not particularly good at writing teen movies (don't like em, either). If we can have all ideas based on adventures involving historic shit, or psychological stuff, from now on, that'd be great. :)

How about a moving staring a timetraveling psychonaught, that goes and teaches historical figures the awesomeness of LSD?

History stuff would need a larger budget btw, so you think thats what they want?

I want a Genghis Khan movie dammit!

Rumspringa can be psychological. It deals a lot with the concepts of freedom, responsibility, modern society, religion and existentialism etc. It not just about getting laid and drugs.

Do something on the Depression, that'll be nice and cheap  ;)

I FUCKING GOT IT!  PHONEBOOTH 900 AD!!!!!

K, so this guy gets a call from god while he's in his little shitty hut made of shit and hay, and god says if you don't start fallowing what I have dictated in the bible, I'm going to rape all your children and have barbarians invade your village.  To this the guy replays "But the book is in Latin!  How can I read it!".  This pisses off god, so god tells the man "I'm disappointed in you, I have priests whom act as my mouth, now to make up for that you have to tell your wife that you have been sleeping with her sister and if you don' I'll get the whole town to think your sister in law is a witch!...and if you leave this hut, I'll have a priest rape your boy!"  Right then the guy starts crying saying I can't do that I love my sister in law, only I couldn't marry her because...well you'll think of a reason, in fact I have homework so you think of the rest.  But the best part is after the credits roll you can add your psycodelic part.  It will be you just coming too; bong beside you, pants at your ankles, dick in hand, and phone booth will be playing on tv!  Brilliant I say!

O you said psychological not psycodelic, well I guess at the end it could turn out your mad...it could be a social commentary...
