Looks like the Apatow stock company are at the top of their game. Is it true Franco is also in this?

Man, I love Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared.  I would love for Apatow and his merry band of pranksters to unseat the SNL shit comedy for a few years.

I would be surprised.  The two reportedly do not like each other.

Well these reported 'accounts' appear well hidden from the public/promotional arena. Franco still gushes over Apatow during Spiderman3/Knocked Up media rounds(he was at the Premiere) and he has a lead in an upcoming Apatow produced, Rogen penned Pinapple Express.

You really have to feel like an asshole to be one of those 5 or 6 who give it a rotten rating compared to the vast majority of others who loved it.  :lol

Can't WAIT for this.

He isn't in it but Franco and Rogen are working on a comedy right now produced (but not directed) by Apatow:

I can't wait to see this.  I loved Apatow's tv shows, but apparently I've been a fan of his for a lot longer than I knew he existed.  I found out on Stern that he wrote The Cable Guy, which is one of my favorite comedies.  I think it's just brilliant, and was shocked at how bad it bombed in the theatre.  I will pay my hard earned cash to see this movie, the first movie I'll see at the theatre all summer.

Wonder if it's a good date movie though...

Very much looking forward to this, but I think it would have been even better if Michael Cera didn't get fired during filming.  What a shame.

Yeah. Pre-Freaks and Geeks he was a writer on The Ben Stiller Show, The Larry Sanders Show, and as you mentioned The Cable Guy.

Apatow & Adam McCay are trying (and doing pretty well at it) being what John Landis & Harold Ramis for the '80's.

Hell, one of the highlights of 40  year old Virgin was the black guy.

Wow, surprised to see the high reviews... the previews made it look like a chick fli... err "romantic comedy" more than anything. But I liked 40 Year Old Virgin way more than I thought I would, so comparisons to that make the movie sound more appealing. Sounds like it'd be a good date movie.

I coulda sworn I heard otherwise, but this would have been pre-40 year old virgin.  But I guess I'm wrong period if they are doing a future project together.

Yeah, I mean Apatow came up with the story for Pinapple Express and is producing it. It is a Apatow film vehicle even though he isn't directing and it happens to star James Franco. Either they made up or regardless of their relationship Franco finds his work good and wants to work with people from the show like Rogen.
