What happened to the Xbox 360
« on: June 03, 2007, 06:17:30 PM »
I just sold a lot of games on eBay and as I was sorting through my cases today I realized that outside of Live Arcade stuff the only Xbox 360 game I own now is Sneak King. :(

What the hell. :(

August is when the system will start kickin' - I'm really looking forward to Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, Halo 3, Ikaruga (XBLA), E4 (XBLA), and that rumored hardcore Japanese style XBLA game. I'm not feeling Mass Effect for some reason (mainly because the battle system seems like Gears-lite and not traditional, and I'm not into W(hitey)RPGs) though, maybe I'll get it.

For now I d/l a lot of demos and XBLA demos and have fun playing them, or I play upscaled Halo 2. I really need to play more Dead Rising, I wasn't feeling Viva Pinata after a while.

The rumored XBLA game is real, it's called Omega Five by Natsume / Hudson

No idea what it looks like though. It's on PartnerNet.

I like that Mass Effect has  a different battle system. It's no different than having an action rpg where the player has a sword. Plus, it's not like it's completely real time.

I'm definitely interested in an rpg that has the characters use awesome omg weapons rather than the shit I've been using in rpgs for the last decade like swords.

Plus, it's Bioware. It will be good.

Cry cry.

Games that aren't racing or FPS and are still "good":

Tomb Raider Legend
Viva Pinata
Dead Rising
Earth Defense Force 2017
Gears of War
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Crackdown
Saints Row
Lego Star Wars II
Splinter Cell DA
Lost Planet
GRAW
GRAW2
Guitar Hero II
Oblivion (though it is first person)

And maybe some other ones that I forgot, not to mention future titles that arent released yet

there's sports games and there's rpg's if you basically don't like racing or fps.

realistic sports games are too realistic for me to get other than fifa or winning eleven.  I hate NBA games.  Racing and shooting actually seem to require skill that I have.

I just played GTHD at a gamestop recently, I think it was 1080i or 720P.  Could somebody tell me how bad the aliasing was in 1080P because it really looked like shit.

Of that list, I've owned/sold: Dead Rising, Viva Pinata, Lego Star Wars II.

Own GHII on PS2.

Rented: Marvel UA and Tomb Raider Legend.

GoW, GRAW, GRAW2, Splinter Cell DA are basically FPSes from a third-person perspective. I can't stand macho military shit. Or stupid urban shit, which negates Saints Row. (Note: GTA is smart urban shit.)

I'll get Crackdown next, I think. And I know that I'll enjoy EDF, I'm just waiting for the inevtiable price crash on that one since I played waaaay too much EDF1 and 2.

Jonnyram: no, seriously, I can't stand racing games or FPSes. I also don't play sports games. Cry cry.

Also, I own a Wii but I hate it more than the 360. I don't hate the 360 at all, I just wish there were more games I want to play on it. MistWalker's games, Mass Effect, and Culdcept will all be steps in the right direction.

EDIT: This wasn't really meant to be a troll, I just found it amusing that I accidentally sold off my entire game library. I guess I did the same with Wii except for Trauma Center.

a lack of variety isn't what keeps me from purchasing the system.

unreliable build and questionable strength, relative to the ps3's design, is my problem with it.

the games are there, unquestionably, but i think they could have been much more had microsoft been forward-thinking.

Hahaha. I will own one for GTAIV. I have enough cash for one right now, I just want an hdtv to go along with it. Plus, I want a few games too, so that'll be like 200 dollars more when I buy it. Finally, I need a wireless router, a 360 wireless dongle, and have to pay the year price of XBL, so it's kinda pricey.

There are plenty of 360 games that interest me.

:lol

When I get my 360 you will add me to your friends list!

damn am i the only one who hasn't red ringed on a launch unit?  as much as i'd like to count the days until it dies... the build quality hasn't bothered me.  the noise is what bugs the shit out of me.

I ran my 360 like a freaking workhorse. 1000...hell maybe 1500 hours of dvd viewing, crapload of games, and streaming media over the network constantly. It did its time and croaked.

Lets just say for all my 360 did for me in the time I owned it, I didnt feel angry at all about using my protection plan to get another unit and getting another plan on that one. Its the cornerstone of my entertainment center.

You're not the only one, but I don't like to tempt fate by talking about it  :lol

i feel the same way...  and i just assume it's gonna croak within the year.  i think it helps me justify my "launch success" posts.  lol

I'm nearing a year (bought in August 06), but Robby's hasn't croaked either, his is a launch unit.

I bought my 360 in Nov '06... has there been reports of red rings on more recent systems, or is it only really a problem on launch systems? So far I have the following:

Gears of War
Viva Pinata
Dead Rising
Enchanted Arms (haven't played yet)
