I just spent the last hour working on some piece of shit computer, probably the last of its model where I work, clearing off hard drive space. The computer had 300kb of free HDD space when I got there, 300kb! It took 10 minutes just for me to log into the damn thing. There were 2 user accounts on it for people who don't work here anymore, 3 more for people who probably don't use that computer anymore (but I left anyway because every time I delete one it backfires) and a 2 year old shadow copy of the user account that is primarily used on it. I found 5 instances of some installer program for Avery label maker bullshit in 5 different spots as well.
In the end I managed to get almost a gig of free HDD space back, which still isn't enough to defrag the thing properly. All the while I was trapped in a tiny room, looking at the dirtiest keyboard this side of B'z's keyboard and listening to some harpie sorority girl try and sort out her post undergraduate living situation or whatever. Poor her being forced to work 3 shitty jobs because she has no real skills and her parents cut her down from $400 month allowance to a measly $300! Gravelly voiced bitch.
The sad part is, before the end of this month I'll have to go down there back all their stupid files up and reimage the damn thing. And then next month they'll finally get the new PC that is 2 years over due.
I had my iPod with me, but I'm too much of a good employee to listen to it when someone else is around, sigh.
