My girlfriend has been interning for a post production house for over six months. All they ever ask her to do is get lunch ( and never get her any) and clean their dishes. She has only once sat in on an editing session. On monday they asked her to clean their fridge. WTF maybe its just me but what kind of internship is that?

I realize you have to pay your dues and all but shes not a fucking maid.

Plus, im pretty sure there isnt such things as post production assistants.

This is why, if you don't use an internship program through your university (these are generally monitored), you should try to find paying internships or, ideally, ones that pay fairly well for the work inclined.  Unpaid interns are far more likely to be put to work doing things like the above, subservient bullshit.  Also knowing your duties before signing on could be useful, although I'm sure in the case of FoC's cum dumpster, her employer didn't outright tell her she'd be the company's kitchen bitch.

A friend of mine works as a PA for one of the networks (The one with survivor) and he does all kinds of stupid shit. At one point he was transporting around a car full of Survivor audition tapes, and I think he actually had to watch some of them too.

Total waste of a $40k a year education. He should have stuck with engineering.
