yup. manos and plan 9 are FUN in their own delightfully terrible way. they're great social movies. dogma is bad in a way that demoralizes and depresses you, like a michael bay movie or the average SNL skit-turned-movie.

Blues Brothers turned out well.

Maybe I should have been more specific.  It's one of my least favorite movies ever.  Plan 9 from Outer Space is bad in a way I can get down with.  Dogma just irritated me from credit to credit.

oh, i love mindless entertainment in general -- nothing beats a hypermasculine 80s action romp -- but i'm a fuckin' snob about comedy. my sense of humor is really fuckin' rarefied.

Smith's movies aren't that great, but his Evening with Kevin Smith dvds are some pretty funny shit.  Dude is a funny story teller, but Cyanista pretty much nailed that shit on the head- all his characters speak in the same voice, and it gets annoying.

The original Clerks is still a classic, though.

Deuce Bigalow is a pretty funny bad comedy.  I probably wouldn't pay for it, but I had a good time when I watched it.

How the hell do people like Chasing Amy? It's not that good. And the ending was so fucking distinguished mentally-challenged. The suggestion for everyone wo have sex was the most godawful thing ever.
