here is the question.

Are we trying to spoil PD to piss him off or are we trying to scare him shitless to he avoids the board all summer?

I want to spoil it so he cries like a little girl.  A little white girl.  Also, if this doesn't work I have his address and will send him a singing telegram spoiling it for him.

That proves it's fake. They either mispelled Remus or were referencing R.A.S., who is most likely Sirius' DEAD brother Regulus Black :lol

Everyone knows Snape dies anyway; he's going to die saving Harry. I love the books but I won't deny there's an underlying theme of predictability in these things

How is it real when they even mispell character names :lol

Like I said on Mupepe's site, this is not even a spoiler even if it's real. EVERYONE knows Snape dies. If it was something like Wormtongue kills Ron...or Percy kills Mr. Weasly...then we'd be in spoiler territory

Who said it isn't a new character? The closest to the name we know of is Regulus. That isn't even CLOSE.

The would not misspell regulus that far off if making this and doing it so well otherwise.

It's obviously fake dude. JK hasn't commented on it, and fans are already disproving it on message boards. Last time a leak happened the exact page number was leaked, and even that happened like a couple weeks before the book release.

Has the book even been manufactured yet?

PD claims it's a mispelling of Regulus, that doesnt even make sense other than they start with R. All potter books have new characters that have central roles.

Link me to it being "dis-proven" by fans.

From reading that it sounds like they're guessing on the identity of R.A.S. It's fake duder, and apparently no one cares :lol

Everyone knows Snape dies. NO ONE thought Dumbledore would die, or that Snape was the HBP.

JK has said there will be no new major characters in the last book. That pretty much wraps this up. Plus look at the writing - it sounds more American doesn't it? "And you saw how Snape went down..." Yeah right. And notice the utter last of "...said Harry" or "...said Rimulus." Have you guys never seen fan fiction before? :lol

it's fake, because none of that text would pass a half-decent editor, and for all the bile i spew at jk rowling's derivative style, she's not THAT grossly incompetent an author.

no, she's perfectly competent and her books are very well-edited. i complain because she's cribbed her style from far better and more original authors, but at least she picked a good one to clone (roald dahl), even though she'll be the one remembered for it.

She's a pretty bad writer.  She has a big hardon for overusing adverbs.  That be a crutch.

My problem with that argument is that in writing, every author has taken cues and "styles" from previous authors, especially in terms of more modern authors of the last 50 years or so. So it's unfair to just point out Rawling for this when in reality Dahl and others did similar things.

It's the same with music. It's hard to critisize someone for being unoriginal when many artists have either taken cues or directly mined the music of the past

there's having clear influences and then there's ripping off wholesale, right down do specific language choices and cadence. rowling does the latter. you slap her name on james and the giant peach, and folks would be none the wiser save that they might wonder when she developed a legitimate talent. rowling is to dahl as scott stapp is to early eddie vedder.

she makes books for kids, yet a large number of adults (and manchildren) consume them avidly, to the exclusion of other literature. that's not an excuse; that's just a grossly depressing observation on american literary standards!

I dislike when people do this.  You can't have it both ways.  Rowling's fans make a big deal about how her books aren't just for kids, but when an apt point of criticism is brought up, the books suddenly revert to being kid's books.

The series definitely started out as something for kids in its first two entries, but the scope widened with the third book.  The writing largely remained the same (though there were at least some improvements--she's pretty decent at pacing things as evidenced in books 3-5).

and they hit you with those little glue sticks...?

They were like 6-8inches long. VERY flexible. At first my mom would use a belt, but then one of her friends (another homeschool mom lolz) introduced her to the glue stick. I got maybe two spankings with that, then never fucked up again. :lol

This explains a lot. Actually wait...no, then you'd be afraid of dicks.

My mom is pretty conservative on social issues, but she's hardcore horror/sci fi fan. I got to see Alien/Terminator at a young age, despite not being allowed to watch Simpsons/Fresh Prince/etc. Very strange

They never said don't read HP btw, it was more of a dumbass idea based on what I had heard
Fresh Prince? Fresh Prince was TAME.

I bet they said you could never watch Full House as well. Uncle Jesse slept with lots of different women in it. And...you saw them...in their PAJAMA'S.  :o

I still snuck to watch Fresh Prince and Full House. Never cared about the Simpsons and never will

For even more confusion, my parents let me watch Xena every day after school
what were they against in full house? No swearing or anything. The closest to sex was seeing a new woman in Uncle Jesse's bed fully clothed once in a while.

They just didn't like the way the children in 90's sitcoms interacted with parents and adults. They should it was just too out of line, and didn't want us gettin any ideas or it was slap slap slap with the glue stick
they thought it was evil and wrong for kids to have witty and sarcastic comebacks to parents?

So they didn't like sassy children, but they were all for child abuse?

Remember PD said in some thread months back that wives should bow to their husband wishes and let them make the decisions for the family and that wives should not make more money than their husbands.

If he gets married and it's to a non-batshit insane born again christian he is going to be in for one hell of a surprise.  :-\

I was joking. Although, I do have strong, "conservative" opinions on family structure.

smacking kids with belts and other objects =/= a light smack on the bottom

Some parents spank, many even. Almost no one outside the deep backwards nether-world of this country use belts. Using belts is basically child abuse in today's culture for a damn good reason. If it leaves a mark you don't deserve your children.

No it's not :lol

You make it sound like getting the shit beat out of you with a belt=the norm of spanking. That's not true. A 4 year old kid is not spanks like an 11 year old, for instance.

There's nothing wrong with spanking. Perhaps these bad ass, disrespectful white kids need to be spanked. And perhaps all those black criminals in jail needed to be spanked more

Yeah if you cant get your point across with just an open hand you dont deserve to spank.

Honestly tho nothing was worse than bar of soap or timeout in the corner.

Now you're just being kinky.

When a weapon is brought into disciplining a kid, it has gone too far.

My mom never used a bar of soap, although one time I did it to myself just to see what the fuss was about. It was a walk in the park compared to the glue stick

Since when is a belt a weapon? Or a glue stick? I realize they'll be used by our troops after the democrats unfund our troops, but on the home front there's nothing wrong with that.

Stop misinterpreting me on purpose.  If you need me to be completely literal so your Rowlingfied mind could understand:  If a foreign object comes into play while physically disciplining a child, things have gone too far.
