I thought the trailer looked interesting until I read about the book. In retrospect it loses some lust because of that.

To be fair, the Charlton Heston version isn't very good, either. The Will Smith remake looks totally wrong.

I can't speak for I Robot (I never read the book nor saw the movie), but the One Character he is capable of playing is probably a worse fit for I am Legend than in any of his other movies, ever. The book is rather psychological, and in the main character's head. That doesn't work with cocky and funny.

No one even knows how the movie will work yet we're already blasting it. I'll wait to see whether Smith is being Smith in the movie before judging it.

The concept sounds pretty generic, but perhaps that's because I've seen it used so many times in other things, which came out after the book (Twilight Zone for instance). Sort of like having your enjoyment of the Godfather somewhat dampened by the modern knockoffs and such

However from the looks of it the movie won't really capture the feeling of isolation and desperation. In fact this looks bad
