I was torn between the Gundam and Optimus Prime but in the end childhood nostalgia won out.

BTW, did you visit the Bandai Museum while you were here? Did you see the 1/1 scale RX-78-2 Gundam?

I did not. I didn't want to torture the wife with my insane geekery anymore than I already did by dragging her to the Bandai Museum.

We did visit the 1:1 F91 head at the Bandai Store in San Francisco a few years back, though.

However, the 1/1 scale Gundam will be moved to Fuji Q Highland amusement park next year...and the most awesome thing? In the Bandai Museum, the Gundam was only visible from the waist up, but in Fuji Q Highland, they're actually going to show the WHOLE THING, from head to foot!!!!

We're going back for ten days in Tokyo either spring 2008 or spring 2009, maybe it'll be my uber-geek destination for the trip.

It's a big amusement park so the Gundam attraction is only part of it. It should be easy to convince your wife to go with you - tell her "It's better than just going to Tokyo Disney again, it's an authentically JAPANESE amusement park!"

Heh, we liked DisneySea, although we wouldn't waste a whole day going back. We missed out on so much of Tokyo last July, we figure that ten days (and taking day trips to Kamakura and Nikko) in Tokyo alone would be perfect. That, and we both fell in love with the city.

The Gundam ride in Fuji Q also closed last year, and it's being remodeled. It'll reopen next summer.

I will fix the Doctor Who thing, TVC. I have never seen the show, so I wouldn't know.
