Who cares. FF4 the movie franchise is a disgrace to comics. It's a damn shame that a black guy winds up ruining such a classic book.

I refuse to see either one, and I doubt I will. IMO FF4 is one of Marvel's most important franchises, up there with Spiderman. Luckily the Spiderman movie stayed in limbo long enough for a great, dedicated director to jump in and steer the ship. I'm not asking for slavish devotion to the comic, but if the film makers don't have respect or understanding of the characters chances are they'll make a bad adaption; this is the case with FF4. These people don't know what they're doing, and I've seen interviews where they admit to being clueless about important themes. Disgusting.

It looks like Iron Man is being handled with care, and despite my concerns about the suit I will definitely see that movie on day one.

I am not seeing it because its a comic book movie (I didn't go to Ghost Rider nor will ever see it) I see most summer blockbusters, regardless of quality if I can afford it. I love going to see blockbusters on the big screen in the summer.

The reason the FF movies suck so much is because Tim Story doesn't really have an interest in the material, IMO.  He doesn't really care about the characters at all, and he's really just a hired hand.  The thing about Favreau is that, despite my concerns about his directing ability, he obviously likes the character a lot.

If you look at successful comic book movies (the first Superman, Batman Begins, Hellboy, Sin City, Spider-Man, 300) one thing they all have in common is that the directors cared about the material the films were based on.
