That's a tough decision. Musically Rush is like the Mozarts of rock, but in terms of metaphors Maroon 5 may be better than most literature; plus they know how to write damn melody.

I'd say Rush>M5 because of the catelog; Maroon 5 doesn't have a YYZ yet, but they're young gentlemen and will be around for another decade.

My friend, her ex and I went to the Comicon a few years ago... she bought this one comic book that I thought had nice artwork. I asked her about it, and she said "oh, that's Coheed and Cambria's comic book". I didn't know who they were and so she got all excited and started playing a bunch of their shit. I told her "wow this sounds more like Rush than even The Mars Volta" and she got really salty with me.

So prog rawk + shrill vocals + comic books + people too young to remember Rush & Yes = Coheed and Cambria.
