I watched it last night. Didn't see it all, since I fell asleep afer awhile. What I saw was...mixed
The movie tried it's hardest to be witty and cool and shit, but it fell on its face constantly. The kung fu movies Kill Bill raided for ideas were cool in part because they weren't really trying. Tarantino tries too hard, and lots of the dialogue seems forced and just poorly executed.
When the movie got the style right, it was awesome. There are some parts in the movie that really blew me away. When my pot pie got done last night, I jumped up and ran into the kitchen to fix it as fast as possible. Then I started hearing all this kickass action in the living room; I figured another cool yet forced fight was going on, so I took my time getting my food ready. Then I come back into the living room and there's an anime on! That came out of nowhere, and was a cool way to do a flashback. 12 year old prostitute FTW!
There part where the Bride kills everyone in that restaurant was so amazing and so funny, I came. I've never seen anything that cool. From the hilarously bad (yet catchy) music the band was playing, to the whole "Charlie Brown" incident. Once the fighting started, DAMN. She cut off that chick's arm! Then stapped that hot asian babe in the head with a nail. It showed the nail inside her head as she fell down.
I feel asleep before she fought Lucy Lui though, and when I woke up TNT had already started a repeat showing of the movie. I'll try to watch the rest tonight.
