IMO VP2 > VP1. Most people who dont agree just like the emo sob stories from VP1. VP2's story focuses on a few key characters and I think is better for it. Plus the VA is better, the battle system is amazing, and the game is fuck gorgeous and supports widescreen.

Considering VP1 is probably the worst RPG I have ever come across, I would hope VP2 at least is better than that, not that it would take much to be better than the worst RPG I have ever come across.

I bought VP2 on release for $50.  I feel kind of bad because I only played it for four hours.    I was very busy and haven't had the time to play it.  Still in my backlog.  I'll get to it.  From what I played though, awesome game.

I just started really playing it today. Battle System is just as awesome as VP1s. They really integrated the 3D visuals with the original 2D battle system very very well. And I'm in awe of what the PS2 can do visually.

This is also a game that makes me wonder what a JRPG with a good amount of Development time will look like on Nextgen consoles (not you Wii, lulz). Valkyrie Profile 3 will own us!
