PSone was a solid era in gaming. RPG's went to shit on PS2. As did Metal Gear Solid. Also many unique games never saw proper PS2 sequels (eg. Parasite Eve).

PSP is pretty underrated. And not just for emu. There's good time-wasting shit like SFA3, NHL 07 and GTA on it. Serves its purpose, helps pass the time at work. Could use a few good RPG's though.

Sony's not completely dead to me, but they're trying.

And even if the PSP had a decent library, it still wouldn't change the fact that the battery life sucks, UMDs are unwieldy, loading times are distinguished mentally-challenged in what's supposed to be a system built for quick gaming spurts, and due to its size it's not exactly easily portable.i

The bolded ones fall under the category of Stripped down versions of console titles.  Mega Man Powered Up is a remake of an NES game.  Maverick Hunter X is a remake of an SNES game.  Ghosts N Goblins is another iteration in a very old franchise but this time featuring fugly 3D.  Perhaps I should have clarified that I didn't mean the games are EXACTLY THE SAME as their console versions, but they're neither particularly new nor innovative in any way.

PSP's definitely getting a second wind, what with the forthcoming redesign and a bunch of new exclusives announced. Underrated library on the system, here are my favorite games:

Also PS1 era games are nigh unplayable to me. They all look so awful.

Not exactly.  You'll notice I didn't bold the Metal Gear Acid games you posted, because they play substantially different than their console iterations.  Canvas Curse falls into the same category.
