it's basically a huge open-ended rainbow 6 that's really fast and arcadey and has tons of people on each side.

with better graphics (best fps graphics) and 60 fps.

Sounds good to me. I love Rainbow Six.

it's not going to play like it but it's obvious they were inspired by it.

Yeah, this is still base CoD gameplay. The new direction in the series was sorely needed and I'm really glad to see a more modern setting.

It looks amazing, simply gorgeous too.  :drool Watching the helicopter go down in that bog rescue video was  :o

Haven't played it much, really-I skipped the PC version and don't own a 360 (where honestly the game works best).

Sounded like some stellar gun porn, based on what TVC/MAF/Drinky say about it though. I like gun porn shooters.

The cover mechanics are quite gratifying, too!

Just interested in your opinion, as I have been a Rainbow Six fan since day one on the PC.  I think Rogue Spear was the peak of the Red Storm/PC series and was surprised how they adapted Rainbow Six 3 to consoles.  It almost seemed to come together better as a whole game on a console than PC with that installment.  Then Ubi Soft gradually sucked the life from the series, putting it on life support 'till Vegas came.  Much in the same way that Call of Duty 4 desperately needed a change of direction, so did Rainbow Six - and Vegas fired on all cylinders.  I have not been satisfied by such a production in a long time.  I know some long running fans were irked by changes, they took the lessons they learned from Lockdown and Rainbow Six 3 to craft some kind of Gears/Ghost Recon tactical gun porn hybrid... but it really works.  Along with the best storyline (or practically the only coherent storyline) in a Tom Clancy game that works to move you seamlessly along the game - it's probably the best $60 you can spend on next gen games.

the singleplayer seems like a first-person ghost recon when you think about it actually.  they said you could command vehicles and planes (I don't remember if it's drive/pilot them or order them) and it's more of a battle across a big open battlefield at least in this level.  Not as technical as R6.
