I think that has more to do with context. I will however agree with you if Indy ends up fighting Arabs at Area-51.

based on script reports he'll be fighting commies not arabs lol. The first 3 were pulp-anti Nazi movies that felt like 30-40's stuff. This will have the vibe from what I can tell of the 50's anti-communist material in america with the russian characters being one note communist pigs if you will that indiana has to beat up.
