Radiohead going back to their roots folks

Seems this is what will be present in the new album. It sounds pretty renaissance-ish for Radiohead. They're going back to their roots of a britpop band. Expect the new album to have lyrics similar to what they did in Ok Computer, with the sound of The Bends.

Not that surprising.  Hail to the Thief was a conscious effort to do a sequel to OK Computer, after all.

nicca, please.  Even when Radiohead do something Coldplay-esque, there's no comparison.  I like both bands, btw.

And they almost succeeded.  2+2=5, Go To Sleep, Where I End And You Begin, There There, Myxomatosis, Scatterbrain, and A Wolf At The Door should have been supported by better songs. Not that I don't like the whole album, but it's just not as consistently excellent as OKC.

Yes. I doubt you could find more then five people in a room that isn't a Radiohead concert that could tell you a Radiohead song. I can't, and apparently when I tried I was called a troll.

Dude I confused Radiohead with a emo punk band, probably because most people here are associating them with Coldplay, who -in my opinion- are an emo band. Clearly i've never heard the real Radiohead.

Now that i've heard the "real" Radiohead, they kind of remind me of the Beastie Boys mixed with the Smashing Pumpkins, but british. Which is okay in my book. Hmmm...maybe ill have to check them out.

Well, REM was a big inspiration in their music, but I guess you could say they just loved the Sex Pistols. They didn't model their music after them.

Anyways, I GUESS Radiohead has a couple ol emo songs, but they're AWESOME.

I don't even like My Iron Lung much at all.

My favorite Radiohead songs are just the plain, depressing kind.

Street Spirit
Fake Plastic Trees
Let Down
and
True Love Waits and Like Spinning Plates off their live album.

Although, I do love Airbag+Paranoid Android at the beginning of OKC.

Juice, imo, the Airbag -> Paranoia Android -> Subterranean Homesick Alien -> Exit Music -> Let Down -> Karma Police is the best ensemble of music of the first half of ANY album. It is perfection, that track listing.

I love all of the Radiohead LPs but I will say that I think OKC is a step above the rest. The thing about Radiohead's albums is that I can listen to them all for different moods. I listen to Amnesiac when I'm studying. Kid A when I exercise, OK Computer when I go to sleep, The Bends, Pablo Honey, and Hail to the Thief for when the fuck ever.

I just feel that OKC is by far the most polished of their albums, and the lyrical content interests me the most.

Lucky is probably my favorite Radiohead song. I find it to be absolutely stunning.

I think that The Tourist is a really good song, and I understand why people are so split on it. I'd like to see more Johnny Greenwood written songs. I liked the concept, but the lyrics left a bit to be desired imo.
