I was unimpressed with ambi-light instore. My Samsung 42" is pretty hot. The first time you fire up an XBox on it you understand all these rich distinguished mentally-challenged fellows on GAF going "HD OR DONT BOTHER LOL"

Demi: haha when I got my hdtv I just sat there putting games on my x360 for a few minutes, pulling them out, putting in another game that went on till I was through my library.

I have one of the newer Samsung 40" LCD's that has 2 HDMI ports and 1080p.

I kinda agree...none of the next gen stuff is formatted for SDTV...

Awesome Demi! The leap from SDTV to HDTV really is huge. My little 20 inch Bravia only goes up to 1080i (I usually use everything in 720p), but it's amazing.

Me too. My friend came over to check out my TV when I first got it last year, and ended up buying an Xbox 360 because of it...he was completely blown away by Oblivion.

Some 360 games do look better through VGA (the most notable being Samurai Warriors 2- holy crap does it look super CLEAN!), but I prefer the 360 with component cables.

I dunno; there's just something about VGA on a lot games that doesn't look as good as component does to me. The colors are far improved with the dashboard update, but still not as colorful as component, and I noticed what almost seemed like mild ghosting on certain games. Maybe it's just me.

dudes i've ben playing SDTV for the past 30000 gamerscore, do you really think i'm a stickler when it comes to VGA vs. Component?

i spent the rest of the day toying with various games, trying out games that look gorgeous, like DiRT, Eternal Sonata, uhhh and others. just wow. 360 makes my dick hard. i can't wait for Blue Dragon.
