2. AAA (Asistencia Asesoría y Administración)

3. TNA

4. local Reality of Wrestling  (Booker T's promotion)

I haven't even tried to watch AAA yet.

Still enjoying CHIKARA a whole lot.  NJPW runs hot and cold for me.  The Power Style (i think that's what it's called) leaves me a little cold as it seems too close to actual fighting. ROH has some good elements and lot of bad ones.  I enjoy Cedric Alexander and ReDRagon's matches.  A lot of their people are a bit too WWE cast off which doesn't really do much for me.  I don't follow WWE at all.

It's called Strong style, and I love that it looks like actual fighting. Plus, mixed with the direction and cinematography of their shows, and it feels authentic, as if it were a real sport. WWE and other's camera angles feel too stilted and canned for me. I love it in NJPW when they just GO on each other - just two wrestlers PUNCHING EACH OTHER in the ring to see who's the strongest - and you're left wondering,"who's going to win the duke out?" and some dude pulls out this four=hit combo OUT OF NOWHERE. I vastly prefer the sport element of wrestling more so than the entertainment element, so NJPW just works for me.

AAA has a one hour weekly show and they upload it to youtube:

Who is your favorite wrestler in the world right now?

Mine is Low Ki. Dude makes every match beautiful.

The second match is missing this BEAUTIFUL part of the match that is fluid as any Jet Li fight scene. It's beauty in motion. So beautiful in its theatrics that the crowd CLAPPED. During a MATCH. In AMERICA.

And yet TNA didn't include it in the clip. :what I need to find it for ya'll.

SUMMER FEST is this Sunday.  Not really that hyped for it, but will watch.  My Network sub runs out in two weeks and at this point, I dunno if I'm going to re-sub.

That said, this is awesome.  Retro-style Summer Slam report with Mean Gene!

Went to ROH's Field of Honor last night and had some fun.  The crowd was largely awful near us.  I know it's wrestling, but damn man, I can't think that there's any real reason to yell horribly sexist / creepy things at Veta Scott and Maria Kanellis.  The main event was fun, but kind of a mess.  Four person single elimination with good wrestlers but a bad booking.  Of course bad booking is pretty much expected across the whole show.  Lots of "guest" wrestlers and all of them lost, which makes sense for long term story telling, but it makes for a kind of boring show.

The best match was the opening steel cage match, i think.  Lots of drama, lots of iconic posing on top of the cage and lots of good reversals and selling.

Bought tickets to go see an Evolve show next month.  NYC has a wealth of indie shows.  There's a mostly PoC all-woman wrestling promo called Valkyrie in October, but i have plans that night unfortunately.

wrestling is fun.

I've taken to singing 'I always wiiin!' to the trumpets in Cena's theme, so nah, I didn't think this was going to happen! So very decisively too! But where do they go from here? Who is there to fight Bork? Also there's been better Raws than this PPV.

As I'd hoped, Bork committed war crimes on Cena  :rejoice

Most of the matches were really good. Ambrose/Rollins was great! Only letdown was Reigns/Orton. Wyatt/Jericho was slow but I expected that.

I saw this at a bar in manhattan which was crazy turned up.  several people in costume, and choruses of chants.  I haven't watched any WWE in well over a decade, but this was pretty fun.  The cena match was great because half the bar was for cena, half for brock.  i was anti-cena because the dude was wrestling in cargo shorts.

Predictable from a mile. It was obvious Brock would win but I never thought Cena would let him do that much damage.

It was obvious BORK was winning when it came out that he was going to be on RAW tonight, the PPV next month, and the RAW following that show too.   :P

I've taken to singing 'I always wiiin!' to the trumpets in Cena's theme, so nah, I didn't think this was going to happen! So very decisively too!

It's supposed to be "John Cena sucks!  John Cena SUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS!" along with the music.  One crowd did it, but somehow it failed to catch on.  It's too bad because it probably would've gotten to the point where they would finally have to change or heavily edit his music, like they did with Kurt Angle.   :lol

But where do they go from here? Who is there to fight Bork?

Probably Cena again.  I see this lasting for several PPVs.

The way Brock is (finally) being built up as a monster -and even mocking the Undertaker while doing, it holy shit!  :lol- could make a huge new top babyface if they book someone right to take him out.  Maybe it will be Roman Reigns?  Maybe they will draw this out long enough for Bryan to come back and get the belt.  Dunno who else it could be and LOL if it's just fucking Cena doing it and getting his 16th title win.

Also there's been better Raws than this PPV.

I agree, although it seems like a lot of people liked this PPV.  I found most of it pretty dull.

I wanna see Ambrose vs Bork. They could pull that off pretty easily. Ambrose is a crazy son of a bitch who doesn't give a shit about getting hurt and it'd be the perfect way to give HHH and The Authority a middle finger. If they play it right, Ambrose could easy be a Stone Cold type of character and go over huuuuge.

Or they could do Brock vs Rock and have Brock murder another legend. I'd be okay with that too.

honest opinion, is watching NXT by itself ok or should it be watched as an addendum to the major shows?  Like are the NXT stories self contained of does stiff spill in and out from the major shows?

NXT is fine on it's own. Sometimes characters from the main shows appear on it, but they bring a unique storyline with them. NXT stories don't really cross back over to Raw/SD

ROH this week has a pretty good opening match between ACH and TaDarius Thomas.  Lots of fun flying.  This weekend is ROH Death Before Dishonor weekend which will have AJ Styles versus Cedric Alexander.  I'm curious to see the booking for this.  AJ should win but they're really giving Cedric a huge push right now.

went to both of this weekend's Evolve matches and had a blast.  Evolve 35 is one to watch if you can swing it.

Fell in absolute love with Zack Sabre Jr's technical wizardry which normally bores the hell out of me, but just watching hold, counter, hold, counter, hold, counter was mesmerizing.

Flipped to RAW for the first time in a month.  Saw Dean Ambrose using tongs to squeeze the nutsack-region of a Seth Rollins mannequin in front of dead crowd.  Turned off the TV.

This has got to be the worst shape that the WWE has been in, and that's really saying something based on the last few years.  Seems like things had gotten better earlier in the year, too- what the hell happened?  And with Brock as the champ, they don't even have a belt to defend on Sunday's PPV.   :lol :-\

They tend to post the matches and ppvs. There's rumors that suggest that Jeff Jarrett's Global Force is pretty much a new age National Wrestling Alliance, but international and he's trying to get JR to comment on English commentary for NJPW. They're going to air NJPW's big ppv event in January in America on ppv.  good place to start.

That Coli post is like "welcome to 2010."  This is not new.

So was the Rollins/Ambrose match any good? Would like to know. I like em both and am interested if it was worth watching.

No.  The match was garbage.  It started out with Ambrose going to ring and throwing chairs inside, then climbing up to the top of the cage and waiting for Rollins.  Rollins comes out and pitches a fit.  Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury come out and he sends them after Ambrose.  So after a bunch of 'serious' build-up, you get this (unfunny) "comedic" start, then a little bit of actual match in the cage, then it's interrupted by the return of Bray Wyatt, who takes out Ambrose and lets Rollins get the pin.  Poor end to this feud and I have to wonder what Rollins is going to do with Ambrose moving on to work with Wyatt.

This was another meaningless PPV.  Was just like another typical episode of RAW, really.  A fan had a sign that said something like "Enjoy Cena Vs. Orton match #128" which pretty sums up the state of this company.  Same shit over and over again, only toned down and more boring.

But hey, now you can look forward to Cena Vs. Brock. Again.  And then Cena Vs. Rollins when he inevitably cashes in!   :zzz

punk is probably not down.

I've not been a WWE person at all, the only stuff I watch tends to be stuff with Rusev because I think he's one of the best that they've got.  I was super impressed with his ability to sell offense while injured during that match and I feel that he's gotten a bum rap forever because of the WWE lazy / casual nationalism that demands that he be a heel even though his actions aren't that bad.  I turned on the most recent issue of Raw and it was so depressingly bad.

NXT is p cool.

TNA has their own version of NXT called British Bootcamp which is just 6 episodes a season.  Last season gave us Rockstar Spud who is a real love him or hate him character.  I dig him.  The second season just started.

This Dailymotion user has all the Japanese stuff you could want.  http://www.dailymotion.com/playlists/user/JAHMAL1111/1  If you want quick blasts of "holy shit that's awesome" technical wrestling check out Zack Sabre Jr http://www.dailymotion.com/us/relevance/search/%22zack+sabre%22/1

As for the indie stuff, I'm digging the absolute hell out of PWG.  It's fun and funny and seems to be aimed at smarks so it goes big and crazy and isn't afraid to go goofy.  Check out the recent Battle of Los Angeles 2014 for a three show tourney of fun.

Lucha Underground is pretty fun.  Good comentary, good matches, good production on the backstage stuff (very filmic).  Ricochet is "Prince Puma" and if you'd ever seen him before you'd recognize him instantly thanks to the tattoos.  It's a good main event.  Recommended if you can find it.

Also the WWE Network is free for November if you're a new subscriber, so you can get Survivor Series for free.  Also they dropped the month to month commitment, so you can get a free month then bail.

I'm just going to watch every Rusev match I can in the next month 🙌

I can't believe NJPW actually let a championship match get this silly.  I had always thought that they treated wrestling like a serious sport so to watch this was kind of amazing.

Also if anyone is interested in checking out PWG (which is basically the Justice League of Indie Wrestlers) They're having an incredible sale.  5 DVDs for $40 (plus $5 shipping), so you get DVDs for nearly half off.

I was told the best place to start is with 2011's Steen Wolf then to work your way forward from there.  I personally grabbed
Steen Wolf
Kurt Russellreunion 3
World's Finest
DDT4 (2012)
Threemendous III

I may go back for another batch for the El Generico set.
