Thermobaric are a different type of weapon, and are apparently forbidden by the Geneva Conventions. It is a type of fuel-air ordinance.

Once Ukraine falls there will be prison camps and mass reprisals and executions. People seem to have forgotten that part of the leaked invasion plans.

It was all theatrics.

The Russians would roll in, Kharkiv would side with them and the rebels would keep the UAF pinned in the DNR and LNR. Zelensky would flee Kyiv after the initial air and missile strikes(or be killed by mercenaries), paratroopers would take the airfields and the capital and Putin would announce his empire.

By the time the ground forces got there, they would basically just act as a policing unit or a show of force to intimidate. The whole thing would take 3 days.

They never counted on resistance or help from the west. However instead of changing plans they simply send in additional storm troopers (Kadyrovites) who also got mauled. The convoy probably doesn't know that Kyiv still hasn't been taken. All the POW's talk about exercises, having been forced to go or being welcomed as heroes.

On the flip side this invasion grinds on and is very 'cheap' this way. Because their forces are scattered they don't know about the heavy losses either. Plus it drains the strength of Ukraine.

Does this put assassination on the table for a country's top office. I've always been interested in the concept of stopping wars by chopping off the head of the snake. Seems like Putin, who appears to be the sole motivator of this whole war, should be a ripe target, even within his home regime.
