They're both adorkable. I kinda don't like Simmons after what she's pulled though, but I'm sure I'll come around.

Grant's been the best change this season. What a smug fucker. Love him.

Z Nation finale was awesome. That's how you do a season ending cliffhanger.

definitely surprised something of that significance happened on the show.  also happy that Mack was saved.  he's one of the reasons season 2 is improved.

I don't get why it's a like a four month break, even with the Agent Carter show.  iirc The Flash and other shows are only around a month.

speaking of which, The Flash's mid season finale was simultaneously awesome and
spoiler (click to show/hide)
practically the same thing as Arrow's first break.  evil version of the protagonist shows up and kicks his shit in.  then it's revealed evil-flash/evil-arrow is someone close to the protagonist.  but I think it's implied there's more comic book shit at play if reverse flash was beating himself up.

and I hope they don't drag out that amnesia/broodingfakeamnesia thing with the hobo.

Pretty recent. You don't see as many reruns for serialized dramas anymore.

I don't like season 2 of Agents of SHIELD so far.

In typical comic book fashion they have taken a great, fun, simple concept and turned it into a self serious emo shitshow.

Season 2 displays almost none of the charm, humor, or fun of season 1. It's a depressing, boring, plodding hot mess that doesn't know what it wants to be in terms of tone whose plot moves too slow to get invested in anything. The new characters are boring, too. It's okay, but hardly fun comedic spy nerd show of the original season. We've laughed maybe once and we are five episodes in.

Here's hoping it gets better.

Also Andrex is silly for not liking Simmons for being in a deep undercover assignment.

Someone didn't see Winter Solider. :hitler

Also Andrex is silly for not liking Simmons for being in a deep undercover assignment.

No that was great but she didn't even seem to care or realize what it did to Fitz. This is a guy who got massive brain damage rescuing her. Then she just leaves without an explanation. Great plan.

For some reason I find Larry David's voice very funny. Probably the accent or something. Those Steinbrenner bits were always funny to me. :lol

Calzone, huh? Let's see it. Pass that down. Let's get a look. Big Stein wants a little taste. Come on. Pass it down. That's a good boy. Okay, let's... Hey, what's in this thing? Eggplant, huh? That's a hell of a thing. All right. Back to business. Here you go. Very good. Very good. Excellent. Excellent little calzone you got there, Costanza. Okay. A little jealous. All right. Here we go. Like I told you last week the renovation of the press box is taking too long... That eggplant was very good. Everybody out. I've got eggplant on my mind. Costanza, go get me a couple of calzones right now. Pronto. Move it out. Big Stein wants an eggplant calzone. He must have one. Everybody out. Hurry up, hurry up.

I always wondered if that was one take. :lol

Also, I like s2 a lot better because Skye is a lot better. She was pretty annoying in s1. I also like Ward being an unrepentant jerkass rather than some impossibly amazing Mr. Right.

Skye is such a non-character in s2. I liked Skye the most because she's like me: an ideological hothead. Skye now no longer has any core beliefs. She just cares about doing what Coulson tells her to do, following rules, and finding her dad. Boring.

I haven't seen Winter Soldier. And I don't see what that has to do with anything considering Marvel's predisposition to routinely fuck up good, fun stories by making them self serious stupidity to prove once and fall that comics are an art form.

Now that that bullshit has crept up into the Marvel cinematic universe, thanks for the heads up and giving me all the ammo I need to NOT see Winter Soldier.

Himu disagrees that it improved after TWS. Not sure the rest of s2 will convince her.

But hey, Agent Carter will probably be more lighthearted.

I'm almost done with Season 9. It's still funny and all but it's a bit more inconsistent than usual.

It was, but at the same time it wasn't this bleak or this serious. I don't know, the writing seems off to me compared to the tail end of s1. Even with all the bleakness, s1 still managed to inject some light heartedness into the equation. Fitz-Simmons had some jokes even in the face of death underwater. Agent Garrett ends up being randomly blown up by a big ass laser. They get into Lola and sky drive it thousands of feet in the air. Agent May's fury against Ward. They end up having to use 50's era spy weapons to break into a facility, hilarious. They push an entire file cabinet out of a window, hell yeah. "I'm here to deliver a pizza for Pablo Jiminez."

The end of season 1 had the perfect mix of comedy and serious. The stakes were high, sure. But the show never took itself nearly as seriously as this. season 2 doesn't have any of that charm or awesome stuff happening I just listed. Despite the stakes, the end of season 1 remembered it was still a show based off of comic books. Season 2 literally feels like some Fox procedural serious drama show like Fringe or something.

I'm not sure we've been watching the same show.
