Yeah, in fact everything up until Vice is straight dope.

Vice is fantastic too, but a little weaker than the previous seasons.

Fargo Season 2.  :aah :whew :rejoice

I can't believe I've slept on this series until now. S1 was really good, but S2 was on an entirely new level, up there with the best single seasons of any drama TV I've seen. The only thing I didn't like was the

UFO stuff. Was a bit shark jump-y and didn't have any purpose.

Man, I like Better Call Saul but I'm wondering when those different plots will start converging if at all. S1 was the same but all the small talk interaction at the parking booth was actually a great way to link them. Hope the payoff will be good, because so far it's Better Call Kim (which is not a major issue but heh...).

Also god damn, he looked familiar but I never fully realized that the actor playing Mike was this regular from the eighties action movies (he looks kinda like the son of Miguel Ferrer and Michael Ironside) :

Mike is a genuine hard as nails dude in a time where every show or movie is trying so desperately to sell you edgelords as badasses.

Fuller House dropped down to just one and a half stars after a couple days.  Usually shitty Netflix original content has a slow descent into the one star area but not this one.

Told me all I needed to know about that show.

NBC challenges CBS to a spin-off war:
Quote
NBC is considering a fourth installment of its increasingly successful franchise of Chicago-set procedural dramas.

Network execs have had early conversations with exec producer Dick Wolf about the possibility of launching “Chicago Law” set in the legal realm. A show focused on courts and lawyers would complement the existing series: “Chicago Fire,” which bowed in 2012, “Chicago P.D.,” now in its third season, and “Chicago Med,” which bowed in the fall.

NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke emphasized that the discussions are still in the conceptual stage and there is no script or writer attached for the spinoff. But the idea is that key characters for “Chicago Law” could be introduced in “Chicago P.D.,” much as the other spinoffs came from planted episodes of mothership “Chicago Fire.”

Quote
NBC and Sony Pictures Television are plotting a spin-off for “The Blacklist” and will air a backdoor pilot this spring, Variety has learned. Famke Janssen has been tapped to star in the possible, female-led series.

Finished the first season of Star Wars: Rebels, immediately started the second season. This series is occasionally silly, but mostly really great. Everything feels like Star Wars, the stories hi jinx are solid, and the characters are a good mix of personalities. Most impressively, just about every shot looks like it could have come from Ralph McQuarrie's concept paintings for the original trilogy. Just magical mimicry.

I'm not a fan of their pricing model on iTunes though:
Season 1: $19.99 for 13 22-minute episodes. PRETTY GOOD.
Season 2, Part 1: $19.99 for 10 22-minute episodes.  ???
-- purchased, start series. WAIT, something is amiss. Stuff happened between s1 and s2? -- check episode wiki and find:
Star Wars: REBELS - Siege at Lothal - $7.99 (now $4.99) 1 44-minute episode

Wait, what? I bought the first "movie" for REBELS, it turned out to be the first two Season 1 episodes sold as a single thing. This is the first two episodes of Season 2, but sold separately?

What's more, what iTunes Store shows as "Season 3" is listed in title as "Season 2: Part 2," furthering the confusion.

Been watching a bit of Highway Through Hell on Netflix. Good ice road truckers level trash but only Canadian levels of edginess so it doesn't feel overdone. I recommend it if you know what to expect, fer sure.

The streaming model has definitely made me more likely to just try any show once.

Banshee's back. Slow start to the season, but this episode seems more concerned with quickly tossing aside everything that happened in previous seasons for a fresh angle. Hopefully now that they're done that it'll pick up.

It certainly is for me, probably tied with the best of BTAS.

They did Tim Drake and Nightwing sooooo well.

The show was so unrepentantly DC Comics. BTAS/JLU feel a little watered-down in comparison.

Season 2 definitely is.

You got the entire Bat-family: Nightwing, Tim-Robin, Jason-Robin (as a dead hologram lolol), and Batgirl. You got the entire Flash family: Barry Allen, Jay Garrick, Wally West, and even Bart Allen/Impulse. You got the Reach apocalypse. You got clone-Red Arrow/Arsenal with a kid with Cheshire.

And you have fucking Tim Curry as G. Gordon Godfrey.

So yes. It really is that good.

I'm on the last 2 episodes of HoC season 2 and its kinda silly - which I'm fine with but people act like its hot shit.  For example, Frank had a personal problem and the solution to this was to simply pass major social security reform.

Haven't watched it in like 3 weeks.  Young Justice was 10 times better.

So I'm on like episode 4 of Season 1 daredevil. Enjoying it so far. But not really a fan of gore/violence. Like at the end of episode 3 the guy has all this broken glass around him and instead he decides to commit suicide by intentionally slamming his head into a rusty iron thing that's sticking out at exactly eye level? Really?

Yeah that's a real issue in all forms of fictions really, the old "Far West wasn't that violent". Without going all moral guardian and stuff, we have been pretty desensitized in the last century or so. More than 10 people being killed over a year for a single criminal individual or enterprise is already pretty big news. Games are especially bad for this, because you need that stimuli every other second... That's not Fargo biggest issue though (The writing has something to say about violence, at least).

I didn't like Fargo S2 as much as S1, writing was not as tight or conclusive, but it's still high quality TV, go for it.

Better Call Saul S2 : Wow almost already at the very end of S2. Pretty amazing how time flies despite not that much apparently happening on screen. The only thing I am dubious about is the lack of interaction between Saul and Mike and I feel this season was very much wrote with the next one in mind at the expense of a satisfying end.

Kimmy Schmidt S2 : First episode was a little bit rough, but the second one was a romp ("Is that Splinter ? There's hundreds of him !"). Also damn dog Jane Krakowski is ripped. Don't mind it tho  :shaq

We also started watching Boss. Production value is really good and all but I'm somewhat burnt on the super bitter and cynical take on politics even though I'm pretty certain a lot of the inspiration comes from real life (The mayor taking a crap with the door open while on a meeting is a LBJ anecdote). As with violence, fiction tends to pack up things in denser ways than reality so it feels a bit much to me.

Flash is like 3x better than Arrow ever was and I was a big fan of s1 and 2 Arrow.

Flash is so good I refuse to support the upcoming Flash movie just because whoever is playing flash just cannot in any way come close to the work Grant Gustin is doing.
