I don't. This is an action rpg. Here here for japanese rpg developers actually doing interesting things for once rather than shelling out the 3-4 party who saves the world thing. Solo character? Hell yeah, exciting.

Echoes of Time was pretty awesome. The online was laggy as hell, but... it had online! A four-player Crystal Chronicles with online. Finally. And the production values were great, and the gameplay was nicely refined from Ring of Fates (in particular, I believe it fixed my biggest annoyance: touch screen magicite selection and use.)

I hope someone else takes up the helm. It's such a shame Crystal Bearers was such a disaster. I wonder what they were thinking with that game and why they made some of the decisions they did.

The real issue isn't sales, I think. It's that Crystal Chronicles is very very much the baby of Akitoshi Kawazu. His star has faded a bit in Square over the last couple years (mostly due to Crystal Bearers and EoT Wii, but also due to some fallout from The Last Remnant), which means he can't quite brute force through as many projects as he did before. Additionally, his wife gave birth in March of this year, so he's probably working a more relaxed schedule for now. He is very interested in mobile development, and so is SE, and what with SaGa getting revived as a social mobile game, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before CC comes back up. There's already been a port/remake of My Life as a King.

I know XIII may not be the best, but really Hope and Light are pretty in-offensive. I don't think she's cool enough to be pushed as she has been, but I mean she was ok and Hope was like the only real character to show growth.
