Yea. So many people complained about Arena only giving out GVG packs (for a long ass time), they changed it up.

They need to create an " arena token" which you can exchange for any pack you like.

Eh, that deck was fucking insane. I would establish board control every game and never let go. I played another Arena with Rogue right after and only went 4-3. But it definitely seems better overall.

I have Paladin/Warlock at 500 wins. Working on Priest next (179 wins), but it's a much slower climb.

Dragon Priest is okay. Picking the dragons is the easy part, the hard part is getting the right mix of spells and other minions to help against the meta.

After that post, I went from Rank 12 -> 9 pretty quickly with that stupid-ass face hunter + Savannah Highmane deck. I trickled into Rank 8 and hit a motherfucking invisible wall. Whenever I try any other deck it just takes me back a few notches. I suck. Never gonna reach Rank 5. Goddamn it.

I'm currently enjoying a 21-2 run with my Control Paladin. I think everyone is so used to Secrets Paladin they don't know how to handle a Paladin that has the potential to heal for 20+.

Thaurissian is the real star. Being able to turn Lay on Hands or Tirion into a 7 drop, makes them a lot easier to get out of your hand.

Now I'm playing Dragon/Spell Priest which is pretty bad ass (took me to rank 12), and trying to make a Druid Dragon Ramp deck.

That's a really impressive run. Your back to back 10-3's inspired me to play more arena ... went 3-3 both times. $:-\$ ::slinks away back to casual::

Speaking of, yesterday while playing casual I was just dicking around with Casino Mage and played 12 games. 7 Face Hunters, 4 Combo Druids and 1 Face Warrior (only game I won easily).

I guess people are grinding for gold for the new expansion?

People are grinding gold and there definitely has been more Aggro since Patron was nerfed. I've got enough saved up for the first two wings of the new Adventure. And I almost have enough Google Play credit to cover the other two. Woo

Started playing this a little more. Probably my least favorite feature is that Casual is where UTTER NOOBS (like me) play, and it's also where power players go to test their theme decks before rolling into Ranked. About 1-in-3 games I'll get someone perfectly suited to my level, but the other times it's like I've brought a spork to a gun fight.

Casual mode is a shitshow. Especially now, because you have pure F2P players grinding for 700 gold to afford the adventure wings.

There needs to be three modes: Casual, Unranked, Ranked. Ranked and Unranked can earn you gold and casual has no rewards attached. That way people can dick around and not worry about grinding for gold or doing their dailies.

Really, the best place for new players is on ladder in ranks 20-25. You are going to find a lot more opponents within you experience range there. I would recommend just playing games in there and avoid casual. Once you hit rank 20 though, it turns into a shitshow again.

Hopefully Blizzard finally does something about improving the new player experience in this game. They have acknowledged that it is a problem (especially with all the expansions this game has had), so that's a good first step.

I found something I hate more than the tuned-deck-testers: Bad winners. These aren't people who mock, 'cos that's not possible through the limited chat options; no, this is the dickhead who is able to win, but spends his last turn casting a bunch of extra spells, powering up creatures, buffing out his offensive line... I'm fine playing through to the end of a game I'm clearly going to lose, but FUCKING NOBODY GETS TO WASTE MY TIME while they power-wank over their last turn. Fuck RIGHT OFF with that.

Yea, sometimes it people being dicks, sometimes it's new people who don't realize they have lethal until halfway through their turn and sometimes it's just people that are trying to earn achievements. Because there are achievements granted for spells or minions played.

Yeah if I'm about to win or lose I always think about what the quest of the day is in case it's one of the 'play x cards under over/y cost' types. I just hate having 19 of 20 6 cost cards done at the end of a game.

Blizzard made a big announcement today.

They are creating new formats, Wild/Standard. Standard will only be the latest few sets and Classic cards. So, that means GvG and Naxx will be phased out.

I guess that's one way to make TgT cards viable..

edit: Also, 18 deck slots.

I made the push the second-to-last day. I had gotten to Rank 9/8 with Tempo Mage and I decided to take advantage of Secret Paladin before Standard arrives (although I know I'll still be able to in Wild mode). I crafted 2 Mysterious Challengers and was Rank 5 a few hours later.

Reasons for: only gonna have like 2k gold when it drops, not awful but probably still gonna have a deficit since standard will render all of my current decks useless; I don't really play arena that often, so I'll actually be using the cards; cool animated card back.

I was super lucky in my first batch of packs. Got the Twins, Fandral and Soggoth. Had to craft Nzoth and Yogg.

Since then I've also opened up Bogeymonster, Xarill and just today Chogall.

Made rank 5 in Wild with Patron Warrior. Still preeetty good against most decks you will find there. I've probably logged in 500+ games with the deck so far, so I'm pretty good with it.
