I ran into someone with that new Legendary last night. Late in the match (I was ahead and in control) and they threw it out there and put a taunt on it. I basically had to run all my minions into it or wait until I got the frog card (playing as low-level Shaman).

Pretty dastardly card.

Which one was it?

Legs can be like that, you feel like you are winning but then BAM. Its important to know what your opponent is trying to do and his moves could be so that you know what to save your cards for (like the frog). Basicly know your opponents deck.

There are a few cards that will deal with almost any threat. If you're playing Shaman then you could add two Hex to your deck and save them for difficult late-game minions.

It was that new Legendary (the spider). It's a long name I don't remember. So, every time I ran a minion into it, it would kill that minion.

Yea, I need to start mixing in some more silence cards, they can really flip a match if used in the right spot. I usually like to go aggro though, so I load my decks with a lot of divine shields, windfury and +/+ modifiers.

Last night I ran into a taunted Maexxna again, I had a Kodo (battlecry: eliminate minion with 2 or less attack) in my hand. Felt good.

Paladin has (surprisingly) been my most effective class to date. I was able to push to rank 15 last night.

Feeling cocky, I joined arena and lost 3 in a row. $:-\$

I completed the regular challenges and one of the heroic bosses (on my first attempt!). Most of the bosses should be possible to beat with the right deck. At the moment I'm missing two Pyroblasts for my burn deck and two Lightspawn/Lightwell for my healing deck.

Many of the heroic bosses have skills that take advantage of your minions e.g. raising a 5/5 minion whenever one of your minions is killed. If you build a deck with no minions it should be fairly easy to win. However, dealing enough damage with only spells might require two copies of Pyroblast.

I pulled a golden Bloodmage Thalnos last night (+1 Spell and Draw card deathrattle).

I would love to have that dust (+1600), but that card seems like it will be pretty handy in a lot of decks.

I got a golden Hogger this week and I was planning on turning it into a Thalnos. It's not terribly exciting, but maybe the most versatile legend.

yea, I'm in a wierd spot now. I want to use the dust to make neutrals that I want/need (Faceless, Knife Juggler, Pyromancer, Auctioneer etc).

I think my best bet is to spend some $$ on this game and then buy a bunch of packs and see where I am at after that.

I spent $10 on 7 Packs just to see what I got: 1 Epic, several extra Rares. Spent another $10 later and got a Malygos with the last pack, some Epic and a few golden Rares. Filled in a lot of the decent to good commons I was missing 2x of as well.

I lost 1 Pack by doing it this way, but it let me do a batch of opens, see what I could make and then decide if spending more was worth the chance. Unless you feel like dropping $50 of course, I think it's a good route to go.

The changes to rerolls made the daily grind a bit more irritating, otherwise I probably would have just chugged along buying Arena Tokens as I could.

Secretkeeper is not bad at all. Having some board presence before you start playing secrets is essential for tempo. It will often deal a few points of damage before you can trade it against an opponents creature or a removal spell.

Realistically though you could play it turn 1 but then its up against Squire, Imp or whatever peeps are playing and 1/2 doesnt cut it.

Highly unlikely it will make it to turn 3/4 I think.

Maybe you can play it turn 4 with a secret, but then Kirin Tor is better.

Have to play around with it more.

In my secret deck I run Secretkeeper, Kirin Tor Mage, and Ethereal Arcanist. I also have a couple of Gadgetzan Auctioneers, but those will likely be removed when I add the new cards from the expansions. Both Duplicate and Mad Scientist seem great.

I wish there were some way to negate secrets (even if for a turn). I was in a match last night where I had 1 HP left and had lethal on a Hunter, but he had explosive traps set up. I had no recourse but to suicide.

My first successful deck was a build called a Zoolock (sounds like "Zoo" might have been a card game term that pre-dates Hearthstone).

Basically load up your deck with cheap minions and swarm the opponent with them. With the Warlock ability you never really run out of cards. Didn't follow the build to the letter, but the general idea is pretty easy to implement.

The only other real ranked success I've had is with the Paladin, since I've gotten a few pretty great Paladin-spic Epics and Legendaries. With both builds I usually stall out at around rank 14-16 though.

9 deck limit is starting to bug me, need to delete a deck every time I want to try something new.

@mamacint: I think zoo is from magic. Zoolock is very powerful although im not sure about current meta cause I havent played in a while on the ladder

I had my best run in arena yesterday of 5-3. Played a priest and went with value minions over class specific spells.

One of my wins was against a mage that had 4 flamestrikes and 4 polymorphs. It was one of the most frustrating matches I have played yet.

I hate when people bitch about facing one type of enemy all the time(ie. reddit), but the sheer amount of hunters I face in ranked (and even casual) is starting to become grating. Been playing a lot more arena lately because of it.

I was able to finish at rank 12 last season with a naxx-heavy Paladin. Running into too many dudes with 4-5 legendaries in their decks.

I'm completely bawlz at Arena. Really just have no feel for building a deck. I resorted to following internet guides that ranked the relative worth of each card for each class, but I still end up with a jumbled mess of a deck.

Lately I've just been saying fuck it and buying the packs for 100 gold, saves me the fuss and frustration.

This is a decent guide for Arena (not the card rankings, which are outdated at this point, but the general idea).

I still don't do it much because there's already enough RNG in the game without the extreme amount of RNG in drafting.

I keep playing my dailies, but my interest is lessened considerably.

Arena feels like a waste of time to eek out a little bit of extra gold/dust more often than not.
